Today we’d like to introduce you to BriAnna Collier.
Hi BriAnna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My business began just from simply loving to cook! Bri Baby Eats and Treats just began this year, after last year completing my certification in culinary along with my serv safe certification. I love the reactions when people taste my food and then ask for more or even the recipe. As a single mom, I’m always looking for ways to bring in more income so I figured, why not do something I love to do. After completing the culinary program at REOC (Rochester educational opportunity center), I began preparing to begin my business from my menu, name, and logo. Once I felt I was ready to launch I booked a vending spot at a cannabis pop-up and since then things have been going great! So now I try to do one or two pop-ups a month, and the turnouts are what keep me wanting to do more! Fast forwarding to now I’m still going and pushing forward to expanding my business beyond pop-ups and now on to catering! I recently just catered a birthday dinner for 20 doing a mini pasta bar. This was my first catering event and I can wait to take on more as we get closer to the end of the year!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey of my business has not really been a struggle but I’d say just more so of an amusing journey. I say that because as a new business in the food industry times are different with the various styles of cooking, prices, and so much more. Once i was able to find what fit for me and my business, i knew things were going in the right direction. But the networking I’ve been able to do with the people I’ve met has definitely been amazing as well! I’ve met people in so many people in different fields of entrepreneurship that it brought me so many ideas to connect with other businesses overtime as I grow ! Allowing my creative juices to keep flowing as Bri Baby continues and expands!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an entrepreneur who is now focusing on building my name, and my brand in the food industry first. Then eventually music, beauty, and whatever else I see is fit for me to accomplish. At this time my first adventure I’m focusing in on Bri Baby Eats and Treats. I provide at this time as my treats are my cookies of four flavors chocolate chip, sugar, red velvet, and strawberry lemonade. For my eats I provide dips, such as Buffalo chicken dip and Spinach dip. Even with my menu being so small people enjoy the simplicity of it! My customers love and make my business known for my strawberry lemonade cookies and my Buffalo chicken wing dip! Years before I started my business, I’ve always been asked to make my dip for events.
And as for the baking part, I recently found a niche for it but, my strawberry lemonade cookie pretty much sells out at any pop-up event I do. I’m most proud of my business just for the simple fact that I’m still going and going strong. With the prices of food and on top of there being so many other people who are great cooks in my city, it can be a bit discouraging, but I’m very certain I’m not going anywhere! What I believe sets me apart is my customer service. I come from such a long previous work history of solely customer service I pride on making my customers feel appreciated when purchasing from Bri Baby Eats and Treats.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Having my family, friends, music, and food are what truly make me happy . My family and friends are my biggest supporters in anything I do. Music has always been my first love from singing to just listening as it is so therapeutic to me, especially since the pandemic hit. As far as food it’s brought so much comfort to myself and others overtime. Food overall is what brings the families and friends together to turn on the music on and gather for a time of making memories! All my happinesses have gotten me out of some moments in my life that I was really down and depressed. Only because of them, was I able to get as far as I have in life.
