Today we’d like to introduce you to Lemonade Lambo.
Hi Lemonade, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was younger, I always did what was “right” according to society’s rules, I worked multiple jobs attended school maintained an acceptable life for my daughter and I. However I always felt there was more in store for me I just didn’t know WHAT to do. My childhood trauma competed with my confidence and dreams and for a long time, I’ve suffered from all forms of abuse growing up, house to house, no consistency, no stability and only now in my adult life being in love with going through those ordeals because without them I would not know how to be resilient, confident, nor would I have found strength in vulnerability. Due to the lack of structure, I blindly chased my modeling career for the wrong reasons i.e money, notoriety, to impress people who I’ve learned on this journey have no weight on who I will become. Once I realized I would have to unlearn in order to relearn myself during entrepreneurship my focus adjusted.
I took a look at my goals and created a plan to execute. I targeted one of the more well known creators in Atlanta and once I appeared in a few skits content creators began reaching out to film. This sounds simple however maintaining my daughter, mental health, and the financial differences from consistent pay to entrepreneurship became a balance I only recently started to achieve. The goal during my beginning stage of creating was to gain a following through networking, once I gained a decent following the train almost runs itself and I was able to tap into more of my talents like creating music and modeling. I am officially monetized on all platforms except Facebook but I’m chasing that currently. The main thing I’ve done is studied other creators and when I was ready implement all the knowledge I gained attack the market based on my demographic.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road is never easy, my main struggles were balancing being a mother and switching gears from financial stability through multiple jobs to now entrepreneurship where the income takes a major cut in the beginning. I struggled mentally more than anything, questioning if I made the right move to another state. I also needed to regain confidence in this new version of myself which will take time, time I was willing to sacrifice in order to achieve my goals. Being consistent is still a difficult challenge of mine and I have learned discipline along the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in music, songwriting and singing that is my main passion. I am known for my acting in content more than anything else. I am most proud of my most recent single ANXIOUS because of the vulnerability of the lyrics and I filmed my first music video for the single. I never thought I would actually see it through, I definitely cried happy tears once we wrapped. What sets me apart from others is my resilience, through my traumas and failure I always persevere. I never give up even when the odds are against me. My heart is humble and every word I speak is genuine so I can always feel when others aren’t being real with themselves or me. The ability to be a chameleon in any environment sets me apart from others as well.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always happy, smiling, and goofy. I definitely was a lover, I loved my siblings most so we always were laughing and getting into trouble of course. My confidence didn’t grow until I became an adult so at times I was a people pleaser too. I played basketball but I was lost on the court! That’s when I knew sports weren’t for me even though I am 6ft tall. My sisters and I would sing all day long, that’s where I was most comfortable singing with my sister Raven.
