Today we’d like to introduce you to Luna Guzman.
Hi Luna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a love for makeup but started doing makeup on others about 8 years ago. Started with prom and homecomings and I have transitioned mainly into bridal. I love the feeling of being picked out of so many talented artists to partake in someone’s special day. I mean they’re going to remember that day forever and I love being a part of it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve worked part and full-time jobs over the years and always kept this as my side business. Covid was a hard stop for me, which really slowed down the momentum I had going with my business. This next year I want to go full time and slowly I’m on track again but definitely hard for me to think about diving into my business full-time. It’s a pretty scary thought.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Bridal is my niche, but I love quinceañeras! Bridal is definitely where I have the most fun, it’s so much fun tailoring a bride’s perfect look for their wedding day. The trial and the day of are both such special moments for a bride.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
It’s always going to be around, it’s only growing more from now. I always hear the mother of the bride say that they never did the whole getting ready process back when they got married and now it’s a whole thing to have just as good of a get-ready morning as any other part of the wedding day.
