Today we’d like to introduce you to M-T Strickland.
Hi M-T, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Product of Crawford Long.
Brought up in Decatur.
Flat Shoals.
Wesley Chapel.
Boring Rd.
Streetlights meant something.
Video games were just getting super nice.
WWF cause hazards at all my homies houses.
Ladder matches and what not.
It was a good time.
1 time for Bob Mathis Elementary.
Ended up moving out to the north side to attend Peachtree Middle School.
Patriots indeed.
Had a chance to play JV baseball for Dunwoody when I was in 8th grade.
Time was crazy.
But ended up getting injured.
Sports career over… 🙁
Bussed over to Chamblee High.
Bulldogs.
Looked WAY different than it does now… ._.
Class of ‘04. We were Owt.
Went to Morehouse. Did that.
Moved away and went to Missouri S&T. Cold Miners. Moved back.
Worked worked worked.
Worked some more.
Met some cool brothers from Morehouse and became Co-Founders. Yay!
Tiger Pride.
Now we run a Multi-Million dollar fitness tech company. BIG Yay!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nah…
There have been many struggles.
The struggle to get out of the bed at 30+.
Is real.
The struggle to sit in traffic.
Apparent.
But the biggest struggle has been staying the course on a dream many can’t see for an outcome you can’t predict…
Stay the course.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
First – if you decide to go to college. Don’t sit around and just do school. You are doing yourself a disservice…
Built a network while I scholared. Lots of internships at Fortune 500 and 100 companies. Learned a lot.
Worked for a dope company right out of college.
$60K.
Which was actually short change as I had offers for $100K+
But it got me back to Atlanta.
Brought my wife down here.
She’s dope.
Need to highlight her somewhere…
(for real)
Realized that every dope company doesn’t comprise of dope people.
So I started my own company.
Strickly UNLTD
Engineering and what not…
We won.
We lost.
We had ideas.
Batter Up
We got trademarks.
We got patents. (Yep!)
We met some cool people and built a network.
You are watching the rest unfold just as we are… 🚀
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Don’t believe in yourself so much that you lose a sense of what or he you are responsible to…
You can have it all, but you can’t have it both ways…
