Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Pearl. Them and their team share their story with us below:
“Rebecca Pearl” – her full name “Rebecca Pearl Salomon” is first and foremost a child of God, singer, a writer of music and poetry, producer, and a woman who shifts culture and changes the world around her for the better.
Rebecca Pearl is a first-generation Haitian-American born in New Jersey and raised by her mother in a single-parent home in Orlando, Florida. Her experience as a child was difficult to say the least, as both she and her mother and her younger siblings suffered abuse at the hand of her late father. When Pearl was around 8 years old, her mother later left her father. In dealing with anxiety, depression, and great trauma, she channeled her personal pain, and what she witnessed her mother experience into poetry, lyrics, and songs. Though she faced great opposition and experienced much trauma beginning as a small child, Pearl always had hope for a better future ahead.
Rebecca developed a love for singing and writing at a young age. Her father had a passion for poetry, and she naturally gravitated toward the art of creative writing and the cathartic nature of singing. Watching American Idol and listening to artists such as Cece Winans, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood grew her love of music and performing. She’d found her voice and dreamed of becoming a singer and envisioned herself performing for millions.
Pearl grew in her love of music but struggled with rejection, and self-esteem and had little knowledge of her value as a young woman. Though she was brilliant and showed great promise in her musical and academic capabilities, she struggled to believe in herself and bear the fruit of these talents. She fell into severe depression, and anxiety, and at the age of 17, attempted suicide shortly after learning of the death of her father. She’d felt there was no reason to keep living a life where she felt so hopeless, lonely, and worthless.
So she had a conversation with God.
She told God that if she was to keep living on this earth, then she was going to live the best life possible. She would realize her dream of becoming a singer and an author, and she would change the world by inspiring other young women to believe in themselves and live their dreams. Years later, this agreement would become her mission.
Pearl knew the kind of life she wanted to live, and the way she wanted to feel: Free. To be happy, healed, whole, and know how valuable she was. She desired to reach her dreams and knew somehow she could make them a reality.
Rebecca Pearl has become a woman that is driven to succeed and empowered to inspire.
She is well on her way in developing herself as a successful entrepreneur and world-renowned performing artist, writer, and producer.
As an artist and influencer, she works to create art that serves as a means of release and healing for the listener, and influences a generation of women that live a healed, happy, and full life of purpose, vision, and joy. Through ethereal atmospheres, sweet melodies, and lyrics that are poetic and cathartic, she distinguishes herself with a heavenly and elegant nature that is both attractive and alluring.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Developing myself as an artist has been an “interesting journey” to say the least. From singing to Cardi B at the mall, to serving Brad Paisley’s parents at Sixty Vines – Nashville, to taking meetings with music-industry leaders, it’s been difficult, but fun and very rewarding; and I’m just getting started.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an artist and creative entrepreneur. I am proud of my ability to dream and look towards a better future with the best of hopes and an even better plan. My heart for people and the desire to see them whole and healed plays a huge role in what I do. Not a lot of pop artists focus on this, but this is a pillar in the foundation of who I am as a person, and as an artist, and I look forward to sharing this with the world.
I’ve also just released a video for my poem “I Am Woman”. https://www.youtube.
What are your plans for the future?
I am working on my album, accompanying merch, and eventually fashion line!!! I’m very excited for the future and look forward to giving the world what I have to offer.
