Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronesha Allen-Black.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My entrepreneurship started in Direct Sales. I joined the company only for the discount. However, that changed once I started working in the business & hosting parties. That was in 2010. As the years moved on, I REALLY started to enjoy having my own business. In 2015, I was a single mom and it was hard. In my struggles, I would have motivational quotes to keep me going. “Move by faith not by sight”, “Trust the process”, “PUSH..PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS” and my favorite is “speak what you seek until you see what you said.” I knew my issues and wanted to inspire others. I decided to start a t-shirt line with Single Mom That Rock on the front and one of my quotes on the back. My main goal was to donate some of the profit from each shirt to a single mom. I would would make a list and randomly send them money. In my note, I would tell them the money was not to be used for any kid’s needs. They were to use the money towards self-care. Hence, Ronniz Clozet was born. I love bold statement pieces but was unable to find good quality at reasonable prices. I decided to sell shirts and jewelry. I would do vending events around Richmond VA. In 2016, I moved to Wilmington, NC continued Ronniz Clozet but added handbags. I love networking events & traveling, but also wanted a boutique space. Today, I have a brick and mortar in which I host paint parties, girl’s nights and networking events.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, riding the road of entrepreneurship is not easy. I struggled being consistent and balancing everyday life. I am a mother and wife. I also work a full-time job during the day. I just decided not to allow distractions anymore. I know what God told me to do and I will not stop until I see ALL the victory.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Outside of my business, I work as a Billing Coordinator for a substance abuse facility. I am known for being a positive thinker. I am most proud of my ability to press forward inspite of. What sets me apart is I stand on my concrete faith no matter what it might look like. Most would not dare to move with the unknown. As for me, I dare to be different. I dare to dream big and believe.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Those that are just starting out, continue to move. Do it afraid. Do it with what you have. Do it in doubt. The most important thing is to do it. You can learn and grow during the process. Pray, plan, implement and pray some more. Never allow the fear of failure to stop you from trying. If you never try, you will never know.
