Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Chambers.
Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started with pageantry. Not on the big stage but just in my hometown of Pageland, SC. I liked the idea of runway and being in front of the camera for headshots, but I didn’t really like who I had to become to compete and actually win. So after I lost the Miss SC United States pageant I decided to give it up completely. Unfortunately I really felt like I was missing out on something. So after marriage and an unexpected divorce, I wasn’t really confident in myself anymore until I started getting in front of the camera again. It’s been a couple of years to date of me just shooting random content, but I am nowhere near where I hope to end up. My dreams are a lot bigger.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
One of my biggest struggles has been believing in myself. I honestly believe that if I would’ve possessed the amount of confidence that I have now at a younger age, I would possible be a lot further in my career as a professional model. Not only that, I would have also made better choices when it comes to my personal life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I like to say I have two professional careers. Outside of my modeling career, I’m also a Registered Dental hygienist. But of course, modeling is my favorite. One day I hope to be able to put the scalers down and focus solely on my creative passion and model for a living. I specialize in beauty and fashion modeling. I am most proud of my steadfastness when it comes to roadblocks that I run into in both of my careers and my personal life. My inability to not give up on my real dreams no matter the circumstances. Honestly, I think that’s what sets me apart, besides my facial features and my complexion. I’m really just a girl from a very small town with dreams of seeing myself on the big screens in time square, print ads, runways, and anything else that has to do with my creative craft.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is that people only believe in you as much as you believe in yourself. I think people have always saw potential in me, but they never started to believe I could actually make things happen until I believed in myself enough to stop belittling my talents and got out of my own head. My dad has always said to me, “you are you’re biggest enemy” and honestly, I never knew what he actually meant until I started loving myself instead of judging myself.
