Hi Chata, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started of in the beauty industry doing hair directly after finishing cosmetologist school. To be honest, I didn’t feel fulfilled in my field of business and wanted to be more creative. With that, I decided to experiment with more creative makeup looks. Even though I went to school for cosmetology, I am very self-taught when it comes to the art of hair and makeup. I constantly experiment to exercise my creativity. I have also implemented my love of cosplay to my influencer journey and creative makeup business. It makes me very proud to know that my art can bring so much joy and to see how far I’ve grown as an artist.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish I could say it was easy but running your own business is a challenge. Balancing clientele, influencer work and home life can be difficult. But it is all worth it in the end. When you look back on the struggles and see that you overcome makes you feel like you can do anything.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Licensed Master Cosmetologist. I specialize in creative makeup artistry. I’m known for my unique cosplay creations and makeup looks. I’m most proud of building a safe space for the cosplay community and makeup artists. I have had to honor to collaborate with so many talented individuals and that makes my heart grow. My uniqueness sets me apart from others. I am very particular about my craft and am dedicated to becoming a better version on myself in every aspect daily.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In 5-10 years, I see myself being a mentor. I already feel like I have so much knowledge to share with the world and I would love to assist others in achieving their goals.
