Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Sho.
Hi Christopher, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with myself. I was between jobs and really wanted something I could be proud of. I was working at a hotel when a comedian told me about going to do open mic. And now, five years later, I have hosted for comedians such as Guy Torry, Desi Alexander, Brandon T. Jackson, and Pierre. I have featured for comedians such as Affion Crockett, Michael Colyar, Donnell Rollins, Steve Brown, Tony Roberts, Tommy Davidson, Melanie Camacho, Capone, Desi Alexander, Preacher Lawson, Reginald Ballard, Henry Welch, and John Hinton just to name a few. I have performed all over the country, Brooklyn House of comedy in New York, The Comedy House in South Carolina, Stardome in Alabama, Punchline comedy club in Atlanta, Georgia, Atlanta Comedy Theater in Norcross, Georgia, Flappers in Burbank, California, and Tommy T’s in Oakland, California just to name a few.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest struggles about being a standup comedian is, this is the only profession where you can get fired, removed or replaced because you are too good at your job.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I believe on the funniest comedian you haven’t heard about. I talk about everything from family to dating to, I can’t believe this is happening to me right now. I am an overall a people person, so I can just about talk to anyone not about anything but I can be entertaining. I am most proud of the journey I’ve been on. From the competitions, I’ve won to the merchandise with my logo. What separates me from my fello Comedians is my overall appearance on the stage. I purchase all of my own wardrobes and clothing with my logo on them.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is like pregnancy. Everyone wants to tell you congratulations but nobody knows how many times you got screwed.
