Daily Inspiration: Meet Decovia Daniels

Today we’d like to introduce you to Decovia Daniels.

Hi Decovia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My family is full of amazing cooks. A few years ago, I started brainstorming to try and figure out how we can all get together and put our skills to good use. During my research, I came across a unique waffle that was being served by street vendors overseas. I had never seen this shape before and it was on a stick so I decided to investigate. I finally found a few websites where I could order the unique waffle iron and eventually decided that I would start my own business around this amazing waffle that most Americans had not seen! I finally created the perfect recipe and I was off and running!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The only major obstacle I have come across was the pandemic. It put many businesses on hold or completely destroyed them. So I am now gearing up to get things going again.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Coco’s Waffle Palooza brings a unique twist to the Belgian waffle. This is something very few Americans have seen before and when they taste it they are even more amazed! I pride myself on being a unique individual and now that I have a product that is unique, it makes me very proud. I am also proud of the fact that I started this business with no blueprint to follow. I had to do all of the research myself from top to bottom.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I am also the cohost of Cousins Conversations & Cocktails podcast. I do this show with a group of ladies (my actual cousins) every week and they definitely help me to be my best. And a shoulder to lean on whenever I am feeling overwhelmed
