Today we’d like to introduce you to Gardy Girault.
Hi Gardy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was tired of the same old dance music. I wanted to hear sounds that represent my culture, my people in clubs and parties. Afro-Haitian dance music. I am a music producer and I dj as well. I’ve built my reputation In the mid-2010s with a distinctive merging of Afro-Haitian rara rhythms and electronic house music that he referred to as “rara tech.”
By the decade’s end, I had created my own label and found international success, releasing numerous EPs and playing my custom blend everywhere from North America to Africa and the Middle East.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not easy at all. Especially that I was the only one. They took me for a fool, a wanna be, a dreamer. I was told that my musical genre would never work. I then created an ecosystem, a space to expose myself to anyone who had an open enough mind for something fresh, new, and revolutionary.
I persevered despite how hard it was or how long it takes to reach my goal. It then rapidly took off.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
