Today we’d like to introduce you to Idris Abdullah.
Hi Idris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Idris (aka Sirdi) a photographer born in Fort Worth, Texas but Atlanta bred. Being Inspired by the city’s creative scene and my father’s close friend, Atlanta-based photographer Shannon McCollum, I also wanted to take on the role as a photographer. 2018 I ended up buying my first DSLR which would bring me to where I am today. I would say the kickstart to everything didn’t start until 2020 though when I was able to meet my mentor David Forehand. Meeting David, I was able to work on new projects often and elevate my craft. He also connected me to Cam Kirk Studios where I am now a Studio Assistant.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say the road has been smooth but it hasn’t been many struggles along the way either. Nothing was given to me, just making the best out of every opportunity given to me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say I specialize in areas of portraits, fashion, and eCommerce photography. To me, there isn’t one thing I’m most proud of, I’m just proud to be able to achieve every goal that I strive for. The thing that sets me apart from others is my perfectionism.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Definitely would have to be winning a soccer state championship.
