Today we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn Butler.
Hi Jocelyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always enjoyed the idea of entertaining, mixing drinks, and just having a great time with the people in my life. After getting married and having my first child, I decided it was time to switch it up a little and get into something new. As my tongue palate became more mature I wanted to indulge more into drinking wine, and what better way to do that by starting a wine blog…@cabsofkennesaw. This was to help me keep up with the wines that I tried and to also give other people recommendations. I was then asked to do several tastings for some family and friends that I enjoyed so much! I’m a teacher so it was right up my alley. I do them in-person, and also virtual. My ultimate goal is to continue in the wine industry…hope to see you shopping with me soon! 🙂
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning more about wine has been a very smooth road. I get to taste new wines weekly. The only thing I would say that is slowing me down from my DREAM in the industry is the time to provide wine content consistently, and also the extra funds for my ideas. Saving is going well…just not quite there yet.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a Virtual Teacher at Georgia Cyber Academy and I love teaching my students on a daily basis. On the weekends/breaks, I also do wine tastings for family and friends where I am still teaching about something I love…WINE. My friends and family are continuously asking me about wine recommendations, or either requesting me to pick out a few for their liking. I am most proud to recommend something tasty that will turn into a conversation piece for people to enjoy. What sets me apart from others is that I make sure everyone is enjoying themselves no matter what they do or do not know about wine. It’s an experience that I offer that others won’t forget. I also create a signature cocktail for the evening that the host requested that everyone can enjoy.
How do you think about happiness?
Being about to enjoy life with my family and friends makes me happy. As we have witnessed over the last few years, life is short and every moment deserves to the best that it can be despite the ups and downs. Trying new wines also makes me happy…it’s like my passport to the different regions that create the wines.
