Daily Inspiration: Meet Joey ZaZa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey ZaZa. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Joeseph Rodriguez, better known by his stage name “Joey ZaZa”, is a Cuban-American rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer. Born in San Diego, California, Joey was raised in Dallas, Texas. It was during this time he got into the rap/hip-hop culture, accrediting Houston and Atlanta underground rappers as influences.

Joey credits his biggest inspiration for doing music as his younger brother, John Rodriguez, who died in December 2018 at the age of 19. “Music was something we both shared, especially our love for R&B. He is my biggest motivator and I couldn’t do this if I didn’t think he was watching.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not, the entertainment industry is extremely hard to get into. Exposure is one of the biggest problems that I and most aspiring entertainers run into. However, more recently, it has been getting easier and I’m receiving more opportunities

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an Artist. I love creating music. I think I’m in the hip-hop /rap genre, but I’m more into the melodic rap. I think a unique way that I approach and make songs sets me apart, as well as having my own sound. So far, I’m most proud of opening up for 2Chainz, Lil Keed and Boosie

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think that I’m the next 5 years the music industry will be headed more in the direction I do. Focusing on more melodic raps and the general beat and vibe. The industry sound changes every few years so I’m excited to see where it goes
