Daily Inspiration: Meet Kimberly Lowe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Lowe.

Hi Kimberly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My thought process behind starting my own business came from a place of self-reflection and reconstruction. I wanted to be better in all aspects of my life, and the only way I saw fit to do so was to seek God. I had been asking myself for a long time, “How can I honor God more?” At the time, I was experiencing a shift and it left me in an uncomfortable space. I was being tested, challenged, and forced to step out of my comfort zone. In doing so, I put a decade-long relationship behind me. Looking forward, I knew the only way I was going to be able to embrace and fully accept this new chapter of my life was to rely on God. One night while scrolling through IG, Krystal Lee, the creator of a spiritual brand that I love, “Girl + God,” was offering a free masterclass on how to start a T-shirt business with no money. I took a leap of faith and signed up. It was then Faith Effect was born. I could honor God by creating faith-based T-shirts with scriptures and/or positive, fun, and uplifting wording. Not only will it help me on my journey but can also help someone else in their journey of building their relationship with God.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a business owner is exciting but it can also be overwhelming. I’m still clocking into my 9-5 while being an entrepreneur. My faith in God is what has kept me going. There have been A LOT of times I’ve doubted myself and wanted to give up. I’ve doubted myself and felt uninspiring at times because I’m not where I think I should be. Social media can have you questioning yourself on days when interaction, views, and/or sales are low. I have to constantly remind myself of my true intentions when starting Faith Effect. Anything worth having won’t come easy, and the goal is to genuinely touch or help someone. Likes won’t determine value. I’ve learned to be patient and persistent. Each piece of content I create won’t be perfect, but the goal is to send a message across so that it can be received by at least one person.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Since I use a drop ship company to print and mail my T-shirts, I spend a lot of my time brainstorming and designing what I want to go on the shirts. I want to create meaningful and relatable phrases in my designs so I prayerfully think about what I created before I put out new designs. I think back on my experiences, what I’ve been through, and how I overcame them as motivation and inspiration for my designs. For example, as I am growing and becoming a better person overall and in my walk with God, I have to encourage and affirm who I am, thus how my I AM Collection was birthed.

How do you think about happiness?
Right now, just having peace and continuing to learn new things about myself makes me happy. For a while, I always took care of others and didn’t focus on myself much so my happiness was dependent on others but now I’m focused on me and what I need and celebrating me.
