Today we’d like to introduce you to Lottie Conner.
Hi Lottie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Entrepreneurship is definitely something that is not new to me. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist since 1997. I also started an earring business in 2021 but that is not what brings me here. Being a Chicago native but attending high school and college in the South, I’ve had the best of both worlds. I’ve always enjoyed great food but never thought that I would start my own business. The nostalgic food of the North and South are so different but the memories are fantastic. I started Lo Lou’s Sweet Sensations in 2017 and became an official LLC in 2020. I have been able to recreate foods that I grew up on. I started out making a variety of sweet treats but I have expanded into a full small catering business. Every day more and more people push me into greater and I love the push and people believing in my gifts.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Lo Lou’s Sweet Sensations has definitely not been an easy road and just like any other business, you have to spend money to make money. This business has come with trial and error, throwing away batches of food that didn’t turn out how I expected, perfecting recipes and also developing recipes. All in all, I enjoy what I do and food always brings people together.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m not just a baker but I enjoy cooking a variety of foods. I’m known for party treats, cookies, cakes, pies and I’m now becoming a household name for food for the soul. I am most proud of getting booked for events such as weddings, baby showers and birthday parties. What sets me apart from others is my customer service. I aim to not only deliver great food but great customer service from the beginning to the end.
