Hi Mali, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We love candles, but with just a little research, we quickly discovered that the products we were burning in our home included potentially toxic chemicals. After creating our first candle with a candle-making kit and a few clean ingredients, we were sold on the idea of being able to produce quality candles that we could feel good about sharing. Guided by a clear vision to create eco-friendly, sustainable products, Nori + Mali was born. In the words of Maya Angelou, “When you know better; do better.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our journey has been filled with one great experience after the other. We’ve met amazing makers, partnered with local mercantiles that now sell our products at the retail level, collaborated with companies to support employee gifting, we’ve been included in national subscription boxes and we’ve supported numerous special events (i.e., weddings, birthdays, baby showers, banquets, etc.). It’s been an exciting ride and we look forward to our next chapter.

Over 15 years of global marketing and communications experience comprising executive messaging, content development, customer experience management, layout and design has proven beneficial in growing our small business. We’ve been able to leverage that invaluable skill set to create a consistent buying experience that delights our customers and keeps them coming back.
Any big plans?
Our future plans include expanding our studio, increasing our fragrance offering and generating new retail opportunities to increase the availability of our products nationwide. We believe everyone should experience the calm that comes from burning a hand-poured N+M candle.
