Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Simpson.
Hi Michael, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started out taking pictures on a Samsung digital camera. These days I’m traveling around the country, trying to building my platform on social media.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been smooth. Going from a digital camera to graduating to a DSLR: it’s been very challenging. When you’ve got lots of settings, you can do so much more.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I take pictures of whatever excites my eye. My photography style varies. I take pictures of my lifestyle. I’m known to most as ‘Treebark’ because my photos are of nature.
I’m mostly proud of how I edit my photos.
What sets me apart from the crowd is that no two pictures are edited the same. Even with my composition, the muse is ever-changing. Today it may be a Nature, tomorrow it’s my rebel500 outlined by a skyline.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe in intention more than anything. My craft pivots my career. Luck can only get a person so far. So I don’t think it’s luck or good fortune. I think it’s Me, trying my hardest and my best that got me this far.
