Daily Inspiration: Meet Nikki Barrett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Barrett.

Nikki, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started at my main job. I work with my brother and my dad at a general contractors business, it’s just the three of us. My brother had the idea of all three of us getting our real estate licenses to start buying and flipping homes, but I was the only one to go all the way through with getting my license. I now not only work with them, but I’m also at one of the best brokerages, HK Realty. Everyone has been so helpful there, I honestly would not change a thing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a little bit of a struggle, mainly in my first year. Before I was with my current brokerage, I signed with Keller Williams, mainly because I thought since they were a recognized name, it would help out. I quickly learned that wasn’t exactly the case. I had a hard time getting advice and direction. Because there were so many agents at my location, it was overwhelming, and I felt like I was just a number. At HK realty, that’s far from the case, it feels more like a group of awesome friends.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most proud of not only helping multiple people buy and sell their homes but also not sugar coating anything and being straight to the point. I also like to sit down with my clients when we first meet and talk them through what to expect throughout the process so there are no surprises. I will also work hard to make sure that my clients get what’s fair.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Honesty and patience for sure. I’ve worked with different types of people and different types of situations that definitely required A LOT of patience, at the end of the day, it was all completely worth it.
