Today we’d like to introduce you to Ope Odumakin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Lagos, Nigeria. Many years later my family moved to the States (Minnesota), I go back and forth between Atlanta & Minnesota. I consider myself a creative entrepreneur. I love creating things and I love music. My world is based around music. I manage an artist, run a tech startup, and a Hip-Hop media company. I moved to Atlanta in early 2021 with Joe Trufant (my artist) and his producer Trey Keysor, I’ve known them since I was a teen, these are my guys and we mostly do everything in-house. I love it here, we’ve been creating so much great music out of our spot in Atlanta and we’re releasing a crazy project this summer
I founded DailyRapFacts during my freshman year of high school. DailyRapFacts is an independent digital media & publishing company. We created the Rap Dictionary, Rap Trivia Game, RHYMEBOOK, 100 Hip-Hop Facts (1973-2000), & more, all of which are available for sale on our website, Amazon, Etsy, eBay, etc. Everything is just a Google search away, we’re always working on new stuff. We have a lot on the way.
Since moving here, I’ve experienced a lot of career growth, helpful connections, released more products and launched an app called Stufinder with my co-founder Jake Monir. Stufinder is an app to find & book recording studios. You can simply search any location and find studios in that area. You can also pay securely on the app.
Stufinder has professional recording studios, home recording studios, podcast studios, rehearsal studios, project studios, mobile studios, & more.
If you are a creator (artist, producer, podcaster, voice-over artist, etc) or you own a recording studio, please consider downloading the Stufinder app. We are on iOS and Android. Our innovative technology simplifies booking & managing recording studios.
If you are an artist you can also sell your features through the app, people can book a studio session with you.
Right now everything is funded by me and my co-founder, Our goal is to make recording studios more accessible worldwide. We currently have over 10,000 users and 500+ studios on the app. Big plans for that as we continue to grow.
Me and Jake also created the Santa Durag, this was one of the first products we made.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, definitely highs and lows but that’s part of everything.
A lot of obstacles & challenges I’ve gone through in my life are personal and would make for a better story in the future, but a struggle I can share right now is not having access to as much capital as you’d like as a very ambitious and creative person, you want to go fast, you want to not work a 9-5 kind of job and use your brain purely for your craft but its takes capital to do that or you just have to go really slow and keep building.
Struggle inspires me, sometimes the best ideas come after adversity, it gets you thinking. Sometimes you also might feel doubt putting yourself out there but you have to do it.
There’s a popular quote by Winston Churchill that I really like, it’s “If you’re going thru hell, just keep going.” In life, you just have to keep going.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I like the energy Atlanta has, I like the hospitality, culture, and originality I feel here. Atlanta is the southern hub of music, especially Hip-Hop. I can’t really think of what I like least about Atlanta, maybe how dirty downtown is? Haha
