Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry Yaki.
Hi Terry, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been a wrestling fan since I can remember I did amateur wrestling for seven years folkstyle freestyle and Greco Roman I made it to state a couple of times in folkstyle but I was never really focused on amateur wrestling. I had got in some trouble coming out of high school and I decided to make a change for myself my peers and my family and I decided to chase my dreams and make them so. I knew who ar fox was before I joined the wwa4. I feel like fox and ricochet inspired me as a kid and made me believe I could do it because they where guys that looked like me succeeding in pro wrestling. I had come to the school for a walk-through a year before I joined but I was still going through legal issues so I put pro wrestling to the side then one day I said if I don’t start now, I never will so I jumped in headfirst and since then I’ve been working as hard as I can to one day be considered one of the best to ever step foot in a pro wrestling ring With the help from guys like qt Marshall Cody Rhodes mike Bailey Baron black Anthony Henry Jd drake ar fox (of course) and a list of many more veterans that guided on my journey so far.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, I can list struggles I’ve been through so far but I don’t focus on them as much because I think of it like I’ve already won because I’m doing what I dreamed of. I’m living the dream whenever I feel like I’m not doing as much as I could or I feel stagnant I think of all my accomplishments and continue to work harder.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Well, I work at my family’s restaurant baby also go to practice and then makes shows on the weekends. My wrestling style is very innovative I try to do things that no one else does I’m not the most athletic guy in pro wrestling so I try to be the most creative. I have watched all types of wrestling ever since I was young. I’ve studied everything and I try to add all of the styles of pro wrestling into my repertoire and make my own genre creating unique moves that are exclusive to me.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I remember my father took me to an impact wrestling show when I was young and I enjoyed every minute of it, seeing some of my favorites live like AJ styles.
