Daily Inspiration: Meet Vance Jenkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vance Jenkins.

Hi Vance, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for helping others and giving advice. So, when the opportunity presented itself for podcasting I knew it would be something that might come easy to me. The initial podcasting opportunity I had was a great experience. I got to meet a lot of great people and discuss a lot of different topics. On the previous podcast, it was three guys discussing an array of topics from music, to politics, to everyday life. When that ended, I didn’t want my journey for podcasting to end. The Let’s Make Sense of It Podcast started as an outlet of telling the truth you may not want but need to hear. I knew that truth was needed because looking around there were more media outlets worried about clicks and clout then actual real perspectives. I set out to change that. I believe my team and I are headed in that direction.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any business, there are always challenges. On the technical side of things, I knew from my previous experience how things should run. As far as personally, the challenge was finding my identity outside of the previous podcast. I needed to figure out who I really wanted to speak to. I did some research and found out that I needed to have a target audience and from that, I realized who I should serve.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I think I’m most proud of not giving up and not letting how I started to determine how I would finish. I think what sets me apart from most is my will and drive to be great and not just me be great but everyone around me to be great. What sets our podcast apart is masculine and feminine energy at the same time giving honest perspective. The media streets are full of male-dominated podcasts giving one-sided perspectives. So a big shout out to my cohost Ashley for her point of view.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
What’s meant for you is meant for you but of course, we all need a little bit of luck. I’m extremely blessed more than lucky I feel. Luck is hitting a jackpot, I feel as tho I’ve worked for everything more than I’ve been lucky.
