Hi Maranda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a wife and a mother who understands how hard it is to keep up with tasks like cleaning and juggling the work-life balance. Part of the reason I started my business is because I was missing out on family time with my son, Noah and husband, Joe. When I first started cleaning at my old job, I used to be so embarrassed talking about what I did, but at the same time I fell in love with it. Some people don’t understand the significance that cleaners provide either for residential or commercial, but we are very important. When I started my business, I realized the impact that I make. I’m not only cleaning, I’m giving families their time back. Time to do whatever, to work, to spend family time, or to just relax. I give them peace of mind. That is what motivated me to start Gwinnett Magical Cleaners!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a first-time business owner, I would have to say it hasn’t always been the smoothest. Having to learn the business side of things is a brand new avenue for me. Also, people don’t always realize how much time and effort goes into cleaning. If you think about it, cleaning isn’t something that is enjoyed by many, and for that reason, a lot of people look down on the cleaning field. Covid-19 has definitely impacted my business also. Having to navigate the obstacles that it has brought, such as client losses, scheduling changes, safety for clients and staff, just to name a few.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a residential cleaning company in Gwinnett County. We provide bi-weekly, monthly, move-ins/outs, one-time cleanings, listing cleanings, and deep cleanings. We are apart of the American House Cleaners Association, where we were able to learn and obtain a certification in Covid-19 & Cleaning for Infectious Disease Prevention. I was also able to become a certified Professional House Cleaner. I think what I am most proud of is the fact that I am always learning how to better my company for my clients. I treat my clients and their houses the way that I would like me and my home to be treated. We are affordable, hardworking, and personable.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a shy, quiet person. I loved reading, the outdoors, and being around animals. Growing up for me was hard with lots of obstacles. But it taught me that I can get through whatever life throws at me. It forced me to be determined and taught me good life ethics.
