Exploring Life & Business with Allyson Adams of Ally Allure Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allyson Adams.

Hi Allyson, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2015, I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University. Although I’ve been working since 15 years old with a sales and exceptional customer service background, this degree did not guarantee a salary that would be beneficial to the lifestyle I wanted to create for myself and my future family. I then invested in an Eyelash Extension class later that year, which was at first only to add additional income, but I proposed a business plan that would indeed set me up in the future to becoming an entrepreneur. I didn’t know how just yet, but I was determined to travel the road of owning my own franchise.

In 2016, I gave birth to my daughter, Londyn and wanted to desperately leave the corporate world and have her traveling with me, allowing me more time in her life while working as well. I started to build my empire by creating “LashoutwithAlly” that took off with promotions, deals, and discounts to get my name and business/work ethic out there for people to see the passion behind my own brand instead of behind corporations. I’ve always been a star employee with strong demands and aggressive sales experience that boosted my sales goals and confidence to work with the public. I was Assistant Manager for Sherwin Williams, and upon hire, I was given the opportunity to open a brand new store that allowed me behind the scenes to opening up a business. I was responsible for sales leads, sales calls (cold calls specifically,) P&L reports, inventory count, hiring, interviewing, and a host of other extensive duties that set me aside from the rest. By year one, I helped turn an unknown, newly built paint store to a 1 million dollar store. This career also helped me purchase my first home at 25 years which had always been a goal of mine since a child.

Once I completed those tasks and saw my work being operated and respected, I quit pursuing my dreams to work in the Criminal Justice field. In 2018, I accepted a job to be a Youth Counselor for teens ages 13-18 years old who were victims of Human/Sex trafficking. I was able to connect with young girls to help boost their confidence, share my childhood stories of triumph and encourage them to be better and help mentally so when they graduate from the program. They would not feel lost and incomplete when they have to deal with the real world again. During this time, I became discouraged because the stories of these beautiful teens and young adults, triggered and traumatized me, and at that point, I knew for my daughter’s sake, that I need to be more of a change to society. I ended that job to pursue my entrepreneurial goals.

I enrolled in Michigan College of Beauty Troy, to invest and complete my Esthetics License. Upon completion in 2019, Ally Allure Esthetics was born. I already had the experience of Lash Extensions, so I added to my craft and skills. I received training for speed and full body waxing from European Wax Center and perfected my strokes for Facials during school.

In 2019, I gave birth to my son, Christopher, and knew I needed to create a more innovative way to increase my salary and still have time to be a mother. When Ally Allure Esthetics was created, I sought to make everything perfect. For a while, I had scheduled appointments in the basement of my home and then moved to my own personal suite at Allure Beauty Suites, Dearborn, MI. Here I outgrew the space as I started adding more services.

Amid Covid-19, things got rough personally and mentally in my household. I’ve been traveling back and forth to Atlanta because moving was heavily on my mind. In 2020, my aunt, a cosmetology instructor, allowed me the opportunity to give a live demonstration on a Brazilian wax among 20+ students in Buckhead, ATL.

As a business owner, I pay attention to what’s being done via trends and in society and create ways within my business that will benefit those who are currently on the same wave. Life became overwhelming after having an unplanned home birth and a few months later being affected by a National pandemic. Covid-19 slowed down income for a moment until I was able to get an increase of clients that trusted me with their services and sanitation. 2020 was the year I brung in more money and an increase of business during the pandemic, which boosted my confidence. I love what I do!

In 2021, I gained the courage to leave my relationship and sell my home and move my children to Atlanta, Georgia. All of my family is from MI, and no one had ever made a move across the country, so I was alone in doing so. In February 2021, I moved to GA, bought a new SUV and found housing; here, I was introduced to a series of unfortunate events, one being the death of my nine-year-old dog, Bailey, but nonetheless, it didn’t discourage me from striving for what I was so desperately seeking Success. I had no clients, a few friends to help with becoming acclimated. However, after finding a daycare for the children, I became resilient and literally drove around Metro Atlanta to get acclimated quickly.

I accepted a job at Amazing Lash Studio and literally had to start from the beginning once again. I’ve been doing Lash Extensions for six years, and that helped me gain trust in clients. I began to develop quickly and become booked and highly recommended. It was a dream come true; however, the salary was not working for the bills and lifestyle I was used to and accumulated. I came up with the idea of Mobile Esthetics using my own vehicle. So when I am not working at the studio, I travel to clients and advertise as such. I schedule my lash services and waxing services mobile for those who like to be pampered and catered to. I am currently looking for a studio to house all of my services so it’s more efficient for myself and my clients, but until God blesses me with the space, I will continue to get to it by any means.

Now that I have a little buzz in Atlanta and have connected with the right people who have been more than helpful and very encouraging, it helps me continue to stay uplifted and determined to be a self-made millionaire who is on the way.

After putting hard work and time into my life, children and career, I am now launching my own Professional Apparel Line that will give wardrobe to those Professionals, like myself, that like to look good and feel comfortable without getting their regular clothes filthy from a hard days work. A new trend that will boost the confidence of those who are away from their personal life more. I love dressing up and being as comfortable as I can be and still look fly. The first line to launch will be Ally Allure Scrubs, which I designed and had manufactured with material that ensures comfortability in all weather. Launching Fall 2021, be on the lookout for that drop. It is designed not only for esthetician’s or beauty professionals but medical professionals as well, i.e., doctors, nurses, dentists, surgeons, etc,

Also, dropping Fall 2021, Ally Allure Lashes, which I use for all of my clients, where all clients will be able to wear Ally Allure Lashes and other Lash Stylists will be able to provide their clients with top tier lashes that creates a look that Atlanta will fall in love with. I love the aesthetics of life and Ally Allure Esthetics displays My personality, professionalism, and confidence.

Although I’m new to this state, I’m not knew to hustling. It’s been a struggle for the past few years as a new serial entrepreneur. However, as many times as I have started and restarted, this last time has taught me so much and I am grateful for what God has in store for me. My family is healthy, and my children have their own businesses (LolosLipBalm) as well to stay abreast of my busy schedule and to break generational curses and increase generational wealth. As a mother of two toddlers, 5 and 2, life can get hectic, but I’ve mastered decompressing stress and living life to the fullest in order to be happy so my children can follow in the same steps to create their own path in life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smooth road at all. When I moved to Atlanta, I stayed at an apartment that was not so much to my liking. Being used to a home I haven’t rented in about five years and this apartment was so negligent and I had to move because of the death of my dog and the ignorance of the property management company who failed to fix issues that caused an inconvenience to living. I’ve dealt with racism upon being here the first two weeks trying to get a GA license and was refused help by a staff of white workers at the Kennessaw DMV. I called the cops and the cop informed me that I didnt belong in that area because of me being a Black woman.

In my search to find a new home, I came across an apartment, Nirvana at Candler, who tried providing me with an apartment infested with house roaches, molded and flooded basement and very unsafe. I turned my keys back in after signing a lease and was not pleased at all by the conditions in which they gave the apartment to me and I am currently dealing with this legally and waiting to move into a new apartment for my family at a New property.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Esthetician. I specialize in Professionalism, Confidence Building, and Relaxation. What sets me apart is my vibes. I give my clients real information that I have researched and tried on myself, trial and error. I look at what others are doing and then do what they don’t do.

I’m most proud of the time I’ve spent on perfecting my craft. I never rushed to get anything and actually prolonged some things just so it could make sense at the right time and tie in with what’s going on, so when I drop my services or wardrobe, it needs in high demand. I am very passionate and a perfectionist. I have been since a toddler. I am very strategic and Ally Allure Esthetics is a name you won’t ever forget. I’m working towards being a franchise. I due time, this entity will be an investment for anyone who is as passionate as I am.

My brand is the full package and truest definition of my work ethic and my overall existence. I am Ally. I attract what I represent. My clients leave feeling good with great connections and conversations. I’ve been challenged my entire life, and now with a grown woman’s mentality, I make it my business to help my clients feel how I feel while living my best life. I have fun at work, I am the work, and it brings a level of confidence that’s unmatched. I pray this feeling over everyone who had a career or their own business.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My children, Londyn and Christopher. They have been with me both rough every milestone, good or bad, right or wrong. They are who I do all of this for. I teach them and show them new things daily to get acclimated with life and knowing that change is good and how to adjust and not conform. My aunt, Lauren Tucker, who’s a cosmetology Instructor, helped me filter my way throughout the beauty industry and give me tips and tricks on working in Atl.

My mother, being an encouraging, worried vessel in my life and helps me financially when things get rough. My backbone, boosting my confidence and encouraging me through tough love. My sister Sydney Tucker, accepting my advice and being a shoulder to lean on and encouraging during my mental breakdowns and help improve and add to Ally Allure.

My dearest friend Chanice Moore, she’s been the best support, her and her mother in Atl. She helped me grieve when my dog died, when my kids needed to be sought after so I could work, very encouraging and helped me move my things in storage when I had to refuse the apartment that was given to me from Nirvana at Candler.

My clients, Pam, Ashley, Selena, Barbie, Brenna, Kai, Brandy, Natasha and more beautiful ladies who literally helped me financially, and been an encouraging vessel to get things done in a crunch. They have took me, saw me cry and helped expeditiously in my desperate need of advice and work. My clients from all over who supported me in every way possible. Without them, I wouldn’t even be able to tell a story. My target audience is literally everyone.

Shaynae Clark, entrepreneur and high school classmate, I took a Business Consultation course with her and she challenged me in my business by helping me create a mission statement, getting over personal setbacks that was hindering me from progressing and seeing the bigger picture as a business owner.

My therapist Karlar Jones, she challenged me beyond measure. It helped me get over depression, find myself, get back into the love of helping others since I was able to now help myself. Allowing me to express myself in raw form and encouraging my greatness.

All of my friends for over 20 years that helped with being a listening ear, Bernard, Monae, Cheyna, Isaac, Mark, Louis, Spencer, Breonn and Edward. I love them so much. That support has been needed more than anything.

God! God! God! He has put me in and out of situations that had made me who I am today. Without him, none of this would be existing. I owe it all to him, praises and all! I’m following his lead and manifesting is my new hobby.
