Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jacqueline Sherman.
Hi Dr. Sherman, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my Intimacy and Relationship Coaching business after becoming frustrated by the sexual wellness industry.
In 2019, I experienced a miscarriage. This experience shifted my libido and consequently altered my sex life. As I healed from this invisible and traumatic loss, I recognized that the sexual desire I once had no longer existed. Over the next year, I went on a mission to save the physical intimacy in my marriage. As I started to look for resources, I grew more and more disappointed by what was available. Almost everything I came across focused on the performative or pleasure aspect of sex, nothing focused on the mind. As a licensed psychologist, and someone who values the psychology of sex I was frustrated that the brain (our biggest sex organ) was left out of many sexual wellness conversations.
This pushed me to start writing. I created a method I now call the 3-Step Practice which helped me to build sexual confidence and enhance the intimacy in my marriage. The 3-Steps include Self-Reflection, Conversation, and Exploration. This method helped challenge the way I was thinking about sex and allowed me to rewrite the sexual scripts I had been holding onto that are not true. As a result, my access to pleasure and entire sex life changed.
After my relationship and sex life improved using the 3-Step method, I began offering to help other women and couples improve the intimacy in their relationships through 1:1 and Couples Intimacy Coaching. My clients reported having transformative results including more satisfied sex lives and deeper emotional connection in their relationships.
During September 2022, I made my unique intimacy coaching method accessible, as a guided solo practice through Sexfirmation Cards. Sexfirmation Cards are the first sexual wellness card deck for women. They include an innovative, proven, 3-step practice, to help women increase sexual confidence and deepen intimacy with self and others.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was certainly not a very smooth road, because I chose the road less traveled. When training to become a psychologist, you are often not offered one single business course. Therefore, deciding quit my job as a Psychologist for the Veterans Affairs Hospital to take a leap into entrepreneurship was a huge learning curve. I had to intentionally get out of my own way. Before I started my coaching practice, I was nervous I wouldn’t be a successful business owner. Limiting beliefs were holding me back. I invested in a business and mindset group coaching program to strengthen my belief in myself.
Additionally, as psychologist, I often receive both convert and overt messages to do whatever it takes to make clients most comfortable. Personally, I’ve always had a problem with this. I’ve had mentors tell me that psychologists have no place on social media and that public self-disclosure will harm your relationship with clients. For years, I questioned how to create an online presence for my business that felt both acceptable to my profession and genuine to who I am.

I own Your Exceptional Sensuality Center, LLC. (The Y.E.S. Center, LLC.). Through this intimacy and relationship coaching business, I have created a safe space for women to discover sexual understanding.
I believe every woman deserves to find and feel acceptance. As an Intimacy and Relationship Coach, I specialize in helping women build sexual confidence. My introspective coaching program teaches women to cultivate their sensuality, own their sexual empowerment, and have more satisfying intimate relationships.
My coaching services are unique, and provide a platform for clients to feel secure, supported, and seen. This approach helps them heal and build the confidence they need to boldly step into this new journey with their partner(s) and themselves.
I also offer couples coaching to help couples explore new activities together and gain comfortability discussing their intimate wants and desires. Couples can meet with me individually for several coaching sessions, or in a group format during a couples trip or retreat.
I am also a sexual empowerment speaker. I speak regularly at wellness conferences and on relationship, sex, and health-related podcasts. Common topics of expertise include Sexual Freedom and Confidence, Overcoming Sexual Perfectionism, Increasing Sexual Desire, Mental Health and Sex, Building Emotional Intimacy in Relationships, and How Infertility Impacts Intimacy.
Through my personal journey with having a miscarriage, I was inspired to expand my coaching curriculum to be inclusive of women who’ve experienced infant and pregnancy loss and/or have struggled with fertility. Through this addition to the program, I create space for women to release the shame traditionally associated with such challenges.

They are a 3-Step Practice for boosting sexual confidence and creating mind-blowing intimacy.
