Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Berner.
Hi Nathan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first saw the power of chiropractic when a family member had a miraculous turnaround in their health following a visit to a chiropractor, where traditional medical care was unable to help. I soon realized the power of the body to heal itself naturally and decided to finish my microbiology degree and enroll in chiropractic school in Marietta. In 2010 I opened my own practice in East Cobb and immediately had success treating patients.
However, I was having health issues of my own, dealing with chronic foot problems that prevented me from doing many of the activities that I loved. It wasn’t until I discovered a niche within the profession called Orthospinology that corrected my own problems that I decided to change course. Orthospinology is a specific procedure that focuses on the upper cervical spine, looking at the specific misalignment of the atlas vertebra and its connection with the brainstem. With no twisting, cracking, or popping of the spine, we can make a very specific correction to the top of the spine to center the head and restore normal blood and CSF flow and brain function. This gentle correction can make a huge impact on many health conditions other traditional doctors are unable to treat. I’ve since gone on to become a board-certified practitioner in the orthospinology procedure and have had several peer-reviewed research papers published. In addition, I know to teach the Basic 1/2 and advanced instrument adjusting procedures for the Society of Chiropractic Orthospinology to doctors from around the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No path to success is without challenges. Each and every patient is unique and acts like a puzzle in their own way. Some are easy and some are very difficult. Things don’t always follow the rulebook and part of solving the toughest cases often requires thinking outside the box.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Berner Upper Cervical Chiropractic?
Our practice is known for handling the toughest cases. We have patients that travel from out of state each week for our unique type of care that traditional medicine or other types of chiropractic has been unable to help. While some problems cannot be helped through chiropractic care, we strive to be able to solve complex cases. We also pride ourselves in caring for many other upper cervical doctors in the profession. There are thousands of chiropractors in the area and many other doctors travel great distances for our specific type of care. In addition, we are proud to be the primary teaching facility for the Orthospinology procedure
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was visiting several national parks out west as a child. It started my journey for adventure in the wilderness that continues to this day. My perfect trip today would involve being dropped off by plane somewhere deep in the wilderness to relax and explore outside the fast-paced world of technology we live in.
