Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Lawson.
Hi Patricia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for years working as a Natural Hairstylist/Braider (Styled By Trish). So I’ve always had the passion for beauty even as young girl. I’ve always known that I wanted more than the typical 9-5 and to own my own business. I founded PaToli Collection in 2018 and I publicly launched online in 2020. PaToli Collection is an array of cruelty-free, hand-crafted, natural , organic and plant-based line of beauty products. I researched for 2 years before I decided to launch.
The place that the company is at now took a lot of hard work and dedication to here. Setting goals and writing the business plan downplays a major role. Also having a solid team behind you !! This is key. You can not do it alone it’s always better in numbers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing about entrepreneurship or being a business owner is smooth sailing. I mean NOTHING !! Most success comes from trail and error. Success doesn’t come overnight it’s a process. I’ve learned that being dedicated to executing your goals takes patients. My zodiac sign is Sagittarius and we are very patient. Because you’ll definitely needed it business.
When I launched Patoli Collection in 2020 the pandemic was just starting. That really changed up everything. We offer lipstick and lipgloss; so when the pandemic hit mask hit. Meaning I had to figure out how to market my products even though mask are required everywhere.
I figured it out and got some help and insight from other business owners and we have been pushing through.
As you know, we’re big fans of PaToli Collection. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
PaToli Collection is a product-based company. We create a variety of handcrafted beauty care items. Our products are produced with natural and organic ingredients. Our product line includes Whipped Body Body, Foaming Body Scrub, Sugar Scrub, Soap, Lashes, Lipstick, Lipgloss and much more.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My place of happy is when I feel most accomplished. It could be preparing a meal for my family to executing a business plan. Just to know that I did it and it was a success or even a failure. Just the fact I kept going to complete the task. My mom always told me, “Your life is what you make it lil mama” The lesson I learned from that is that we create our happiness. Your happiness starts with you. Never give up on your happiness
