Today we’d like to introduce you to Aissatou Diallo.
Hi Aissatou, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
One evening I was scrolling through the internet stressed in the search for the perfect outfit for my daughter. I had 1 million and one things on my to-do list (I’m sure most moms can relate). But one of the things at the top of my list was to find a cute outfit for my baby girl’s 1st birthday – yes her first-ever birthday! ⠀⠀
We all know how important that is and it was getting down to crunch time. I already ordered one outfit and let me tell you – that was not it! So I had to go back to the drawing board. And somehow, that drawing board became what we now know as PS Love Tima.
I realized that something was missing from the experience of shopping online for busy on-the-go moms and I wanted to make the time spent a fun and lively experience that celebrated both baby girls and their moms. PS Love Tima is a cool, one-stop shop for baby girl statement pieces and mom’s self-care essentials. We’re here to help mamas on a time crunch treat themselves and their daughters.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
That’s a funny question, the better question is have you ever had a package arrive at the wrong house?
We’ve definitely had some hiccups in the road. Quick story circling back to the package question, we had issues with inventory in the past. I’ve planned my entire schedule around upcoming product releases, just for our inventory to be shipped to an entirely different state. And guess what, it not only happened once but twice. And it wasn’t just another state, but a whole coast. Do you happen to know anyone that lives Cali?
It was a little disappointing that we couldn’t get some of those items back, but we learned to pivot and quickly adapt to unexpected obstacles.
It has been far from a smooth road but I’m still grateful for the rockiness of the road because it has helped me learn and grow from things that I would have otherwise not known if I had not gone through that.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are more than just a brand. We are a community and aim to inspire confidence in our growing girls when it comes to how they dress and present themselves to the world while taking care of the moms who show our little girls inexhaustible love and affection. We make it our mission to provide statement pieces and the everyday wardrobe staple for growing and trendsetting girls; but we can’t forget about the head boss in charge — mom. We want to help mom treat herself and her daughter.
I think that’s exactly what sets us apart from other brands. We cater to the busy entrepreneurial-spirited woman with a baby girl. Her to-do list is never-ending and she always has something up her sleeve. We want to make it easy for her to shop for stylish easy-to-wear clothing for her baby girl since she’s always on the go but also help her slow down to fit in some “me” time.
PS Love Tima is a one-stop shop for your baby and toddler girl outfits as well as mommy’s self-care essentials.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I don’t know the word for it, but I wanted to do everything and when I say everything, I mean everything and I still do. I had so many interests as a child:
I wanted to be a teacher – let me take this moment to apologize to my siblings haha, I used to play class with them and give them homework. I wanted to be a fashion designer – in 4th grade after school for math, I would sneak my notebook and sketch designs. I even purchased a toy sewing machine.
I was also an author and entered competitions for my writing. I even won the Silver Key in the Scholastic Art & Writing Contest. In middle school, I would have my artistic friends illustrate my novels. And at my college graduation, I read a poem that I wrote while on the train on the way to audition to be Student Speaker to more than 1000 people in the audience.
At some point, I was an entrepreneur, selling PopTarts in high school until administrators started to catch on. There’s probably more that I can’t think of now. But I am in a way, still like this and easily inspired to try new and innovative things and ideas.
