Today we’d like to introduce you to Bella Rose.
Bella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started KMV when I was 18 years old. Originally started off as just an online makeup store, I did all my orders out of an office space that was 250 sq I was so proud, but I over are that space so fast so I decided to open a store inside Dayton Mall in Dayton Ohio business was a success I was so honored and thankful because I never met anyone that owned a store in the mall so I thought that was a huge accomplishment I’m young no handouts my own money and I did that, I eventually and services on to everything lash extensions, makeup, permanent makeup, body sculpting I have had locations in Cincinnati Ohio which s my hometown, Dayton Ohio, Columbus Ohio, I was the first black business owner in Newport Kentucky on Monmouth St, Covington Kentucky and now Atlanta GA. We have converted from a full-service salon to a full training academy. As of this year, we have been in business for 14 years and counting we offer training classes for all the services offered. Back in 2019, I started a tour called speaking my truth it was a platform so women can tell their story without being judged, I’m a single mom and with my last child, I went through postpartum depression really bad I reached out to so many but very one treated me as if I was crazy but I wasn’t so I wanted to give other moms and women and judgment-free platform to vent tell their story and learn a skill, and man oh man I wasn’t expecting for it to be so huge it was huge we started with only one city and it ended up being a 12 city tour. My goal is to bring it back this year because so many of us hold it in when we just need someone to talk to. I also own 6ix figure credit club we offer business funding, credit repair and tax preparation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road for me believe me, I have no bank loans, etc. my company was funded 100% through me I worked hard I used to leave one job and go to the next but I did it and I made it, and I made my first million so the money was mine I didn’t owe anyone no money because I funded myself. But when covid happened, my business was forced to close so my business took a turn but we made it through.
