Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Jackson.
Jordan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started at a young age. When I was in 2nd grade, I realized I wanted to be a creator with no limits. Since then, I have tried many different ideas and concepts that led me to entrepreneurship. I continued to try new things until I discovered what worked for me. For me, it was fashion. In high school, I launched my online store, 21 Ace. It was here. I found different marketing concepts. Once I found what worked, I began to focus on broadening my reach with influencer marketing. Many of my items that influencers promoted sold out pretty quickly. I spent the last two years of high school running my online business and focusing on my brand.
After graduating, I really wanted to interact with customers face to face and curate a space that reflected my vibe. An opportunity presented itself to me at the perfect time to open a store inside of a local mall in Charleston, South Carolina. One week after my 19th birthday, I toured the space. A few weeks later, I was signing my lease. Although I did not know what the store was going to look like, I knew we would have something cool to offer. When the press release went out, it went viral, reaching millions of people. From that moment, I had support from people all over the world. Birch & Pen made its debut and the rest is history.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely was not a normal experience. Being the first, there were no standards for me to follow. Birch & Pen was my hands-on version of college and these experiences were my teachers. I am excited to continue growing along the side of Birch & Pen!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Birch and Pen?
What started as Birch & Pen clothing store is currently being evolved to create unique experiences curated by our former customers. We focus on fashion and various forms of entertainment and collaborations with creatives to showcase their products or services. I am most proud of being able to provide opportunities for so many others, from vendors to my team/employees! Shout out to them for helping my dreams to become a reality! Also, I can’t forget about my squad, my customers… I love them. They inspire me to go hard!
How do you think about happiness?
Wow! You know, my family makes me happy. There is nothing more important than family and I am so blessed for them. Also, although we’ve had quite a catastrophic year, I am happy about the many historical shifts of change going on. Change is good, especially when we come together and fight for what’s right. Everyone can have positive images that can represent themselves!
