Today we’d like to introduce you to MercéDez Martin-Davis.
Hi MercéDez, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a 27-year-old entrepreneur. I moved to Atlanta, Georgia in October of 2014. I’m originally from Gary, Indiana. Since a little girl, I’ve always had a hustling ambition. I never looked for handouts I’ve always went out and got it on my own. I have a passion for helping people and always coming up with ideas. I took my way of doing things into my own hands and determined I would have multiple streams of income. After working several 9-5 jobs I knew that it was not for me and I did not like working for someone, so I became my own boss. I put in overtime by networking and attending events to get my name and face out there in the world. I now own several businesses here in Atlanta. Supreme Cleaning Team ATL, Mink’D & Bodied By YoursTruly, Good Credit Better Life, and Savanna’s Soulful Souf. Entrepreneurship is not always a walk in the park, you have to stay motivated you have to stay dedicated and determined that you’re going to have a successful business or businesses. I say never hesitate to take that leap of faith, take that risk, you might be satisfied with the outcome!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship has not always been an easy road. Some days are better than others, and those other days will have you reconsidering being a business owner. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches and figure it all out.

I specialize in Mink Lash Extensions and Body Contouring. I also offer classes for both services. Being my own person sets me aside from everyone else. Being able to expand my brand by adding on and offering new services is what drives me. I’m always looking to learn and teach. Knowledge is everything. Everyone wants to be a boss but no one wants to get their hands dirty. I believe in order to be a true boss you have to get your hands dirty, meaning if you want to build your clientele go out there and network, pass those business cards out, greet others and introduce yourself and your work. Get out there and get it!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love my city Gary, Indiana, it made me the person I am today, the ambition that I have to never settle for less but to go out there and get more! I love Atlanta, it’s full of opportunities. I will say I wish Gary had as many opportunities as Atlanta does. We do have a lot of rising stars coming out of the 219 for sure!
