Terrace, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to own a business, but growing up, I didn’t have the opportunity to see anyone I knew pursuing entrepreneurship. This caused me to doubt my ability to achieve this goal. While in college, I was exposed to many different people my age who were creating and starting businesses and projects, this gave me the courage I needed to finally take the leap. Surrounded by so much motivation, I realized…there would never be a perfect time to launch.
My business has continued to evolve and grow since then, growing into Couture Inc. Under this umbrella is the lifestyle platform and online store, LifeinCouture.com and the marketing agency, LIC Marketing Co. that you see today.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I didn’t have a blueprint or anyone to point me in the right direction. A lot of what I learned was a result of trial and error. Clearly identifying my target audience, finding the right vendors to work, budgeting, and shifting my mindset overall was extremely challenging.
Growing up in a single-parent household and being a first-generation scholar taught me to troubleshoot and navigate my way through life. I am no stranger to hard work and doing what it takes to achieve my goals.

The Coffee & Couture Blog is a lifestyle and self-care memoir, while Don’t Overthink It the podcast dives into business and healing centered topics each week. Our online store provides cosmetics, apparel, books, and more!

I don’t feel like luck has played a role in my life or my business. I believe that my faith and prayer has guided and protected me along the way.
