Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Applegate.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a passion for helping people. I’ve spent 11 years in the hair industry and while I’ve always enjoyed it, there is only so much help one can truly give by helping someone with their look. I wanted something more challenging! I’ve always had a passion for real estate and real estate investing. During quarantine, I decided “here’s my chance to shift in that direction”. To many the process of buying or selling can seem overwhelming. Because of this, in my opinion, sometimes people just don’t change their situation. It’s uncomfortable.
I’ve always appreciated a professional that was my rescuer. I was terrified of taxes for a long time, so I hated doing them, but kind of thought I had to do it myself. Having someone who knew all the steps, took away my heavy burden, told me to chill, and that it all would be okay was all I needed to stop sweating it! I got into real estate to be that person specifically. I want to help people move into better life positions as smooth as possible, as educated as possible as we go through each step together.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can’t say trying to move into a new career field has been easy, but nothing worth it ever is. I can say I finally found a place for all of my oddball talents. I was meant to do this!
Honestly, the amount of info and checklists just to begin as an agent is staggering. Throw in my obsession for learning, constantly listening to audiobooks, reading, YouTube, just getting my hands on whatever will help me understand how to be the most helpful and intelligent agent…my brain spins at times. Then, I grow and get better, learning everyday how to better help people.
More than anything, I enjoy challenges. The biggest challenge overall has probably been just changing my self-talk to “I can do this. I will do this! I am a great agent.” The biggest struggle in adapting and learning is often our own self-resistance to it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a realtor in North Atlanta and I love helping people with anything house-related that I possibly can. I love connecting with people to make a game plan to better their life. This could mean getting them in touch with a lender to establish where their credit is and where it will need to be to buy. It could be “I have a lot of money saved and want to make a wise investment”. I personally love helping people build and grow their wealth.
What sets me apart from others: I am on a constant mission to learn everyday, to communicate AND educate my clients on what is going on in the sales process. Not only that, but I always hold myself to a professional standard in dealing with other agents and would never jeopardize your position because I lost my cool. My intention is to be calm at all times. I believe this instills confidence in my clients while also making them feel safe. I adapt my communication style to each client and their needs, but I will never be the agent that ghosts you because I CARE!
Brand wise, I am most proud of my care of each client and being able to reassure them and keep their emotions in check. After that, I am proud to be able to offer technology that will make the process easier. You should be able to navigate every part of the process from your phone. Look at homes on my website or app. Have the ability to DocuSign all of the necessary docs throughout the if you wish. We can text so you’re not disturbed with calls while you’re at work.
What matters most to you? Why?
It matters most that people know that I care about them. I want them to come out on the other side of this feeling amazing like they’re a winner! I am here to serve and protect my clients’ interests. On top of that, I pride myself on being level-headed, calm, and an educator in the process while a lot of times with my client’s emotions and anxiety can run very high. I get to help them make sure they are sure that all the boxes are checked, and at the end of all this they are smiling and laughing at the closing table full of excitement. That fills my heart!
