Today we’d like to introduce you to Javontae Kelson.
Hi Javontae, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Javontae Kelson publicly known as Kels Minor. Born and raised in Gramercy, LA, a small town between New Orleans, LA and Baton Rouge, LA. Growing up my influences were Mia X, Lil Boosie, Eminem, and Lauryn Hill. I began songwriting at the age of 9. Music has always been an inspiration and a release for me. Day-to-day life is what inspired me to begin writing music. Music is the way I express myself, my vocals are like a visual of me. It helps people understand exactly what I’ve been through so that they can relate to me better. I started off as an artist but then formed an independent record label called F.O.G MUSIC, LLC in July of 2020, which I am now scouting talented artists to share their music with the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This road most definitely has not been smooth. I’ve been faced with so many trials and tribulations that would make an average person give up. Depression, betrayal, incarceration, back-to-back deaths of loved ones, and so much more. Even though I’ve had obstacles, it only made me stronger and helped put more passion and fire into the music.
We’ve been impressed with F.O.G MUSIC, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an independent record label that is all about originality. Our motto is to focus on greatness, always be authentic, and never change. That is what sets us apart from anyone else, we do not change who a person is. We see a person for who they are. We let every artist and member of the team remain true to their art and identity when it comes to music. The biggest accomplishment that we are most proud of is being noticed in multiple countries in a short period of time.

All of my supporters, family, and friends played and are still playing big roles in my success. The motivation and love given helped me to continue pushing and striving to be the best version of myself.
