Inspiring Conversations with Parker & Rachel Boice of The Tiny Glass House

Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker & Rachel Boice.

Hi Parker & Rachel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We have always loved the outdoors, camping, and all that nature has to offer. There is something so cleansing and purifying by immersing yourself in it. We’ve also been so intrigued by tiny houses, so we decided to bring the two together to create a one-of-a-kind “glamping” experience. We realize not everyone has the ability, the gear, or the knowledge to go camping, so we wanted to create The Tiny Glass House to bring a unique nature experience for the most novice of campers to the veterans. Parker saw a similar design years ago and decided that we would build it one day, and that time finally came in 2021.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We started construction on it at the end of November 2021, and it was supposed to be completed by December of 2021. Unfortunately, the contractor we hired did not hold up his end of the deal, so we ended up having to do a lot of the final touches, which caused the project to run into February of 2022. Thankfully with a lot of time and effort, we were able to finish it and get it ready for guests to start staying.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Tiny Glass House. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
In an all too-connected world, our mission is to provide unique stays designed to cleanse the mind, with a focus on self-sufficiency and wellness. We know that being professionals in a big city like Atlanta is stressful, and it is so important to take time away to relax the mind, renew the body, and restore the soul. The Tiny Glass House is special because not only does it give you an enhanced camping experience, but it truly is unique and feels so magical. Lying in bed gazing at the stars, then waking up with nature surrounding you is incredible. We also have an off-grid hot tub that is totally private and sits right next to a creek. There’s a fire pit, chairs, hammock, and games. Something else that we offer are add-on wellness packages: juice cleanse, paint-by-number kit, and guided journal. It’s a wonderful stay for couples and friends!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
You get paid in proportion to the problems you solve and the risks you take. Life is all about taking risks, so yes, we have taken major risks. They haven’t always worked out in our favor, but you learn from your mistakes and you try again.
