Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Nicole.
Hi Drew, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For me, my journey of style and fashion began in East Atlanta. As a child, I would create paper dolls and make dresses for my Barbie dolls out of my church socks. My mom was not a fan of me cutting up those frilly socks. That was the first planted seed of my journey. As it grew, I attended and graduated from Auburn University in Auburn, AL, studying apparel merchandising and product development. I learned that making clothes was not my ministry, but manipulating them, seeing them in new ways was. I started a retail career in visual merchandising while interning for a stylist here in Atlanta back in 2010. Over a decade later, my love for style has evolved and I help individuals now find their authentic selves through their wardrobes.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life, in general, is not smooth, so their have definitely been a lot of highs and lows. As an entrepreneur, it’s become something that is inevitable to experience. My biggest obstacle was fear. Once I started to operate in my fear and do it scared, opportunities began to flow. We are our own critics, but we must remind ourselves that their is someone out there waiting for you to move. It is your gift, your purpose, that they are waiting on. Whatever your “it” is, DO IT NOW.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Image Architect and Brand Merchandising Manager. I curate authentic wardrobes for individuals and create revenue increasing strategies for small brick and mortar retail stores through merchandising. Right now, I am mostly known for my personal styling and shopping services, but I am beginning to re-launch my retail merchandising strategy services. I am most proud of the satisfaction from clients once a project is completed. One integral part to seeing a client smile is by listening… the most easiest thing to do, but also the most difficult to master which is what sets me apart. Listening helps me to bring out my client’s integrity and authenticity.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My happiness lies in my work and my connection with God. It is because of God that I am here and operating in my purpose. Being able to bring out a side of my clients that they did not know existed is incredibly gratifying and I thank God daily for the opportunity to serve through my gift.
