Kati, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a part of Back To You because of why I started doing hair in the first place; to make people feel better about themselves. I want to be a “day maker.” I love the look on the client’s face when you give them a great style. I want to be there for the whole process, hold their hand, and make sure that its good in the end.
To us, you are a person, not a patient. We understand what you’re going through and stand ready to serve you, your friends, your family, and our community.
Your world can be totally changed by losing your hair due to a medical condition. Time is crucial if you want to stay looking and feeling like yourself. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Its been an interesting journey, no real struggles, taking care of people and teaching my peers in the industry how to be philanthropic while taking my career and professionalism to the next level has been a lifelong passion. I’m known for hair additions, from extensions to toppers, and wigs which is my most favorite. I love being able to help someone through a difficult time, market them look and feel like themself again. Being a part of Back to You has been life-changing not only from helping clients but also helping other stylists as well through our amazing training.
What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Follow your heart, if it’s in the right place, it will always be good. Be involved with and surround yourself with good people.
