Today we’d like to introduce you to Laqueshia Britt.
Laqueshia Britt is an author, speaker, education and information technology professional located in the Charleston SC, Area. Before fully pursuing her passion in the education technology field, Laqueshia worked in the finance field for nearly ten years. She felt that something was missing in her career, and she wanted to do more. Once she thought about her desires, she realized that she enjoyed writing, teaching and technology. After leaving the finance industry, Laqueshia decided to pursue a career in education. Along with her education career, she also decided to start her web design company. The desire to start her own company came after reflecting back to her web design class during her senior year at South Carolina State University. She realized that she loved creating websites, coding and using other technology tools. Once Laqueshia realized her passion, she quickly skilled up (for the years that she was not in the field), gained an understanding of the industry’s best practices and moved forward by pursuing her passion as a web designer.
LQB Design Solutions was established in 2018. Before launching her business, Laqueshia worked with her coach Maria Stanfield and came up with her vision plan and put the work in to make her vision a reality. Now she serves new and existing organizations in the Southeastern United States and plans to serve more organizations one by one, local and nationwide. She serves organizations (including educational organizations, non-profits, and churches) by building their printed and digital customized solutions. As Laqueshia grew in her journey as a part-time entrepreneur she also realized that she has a passion for writing. In 2019, she became an #1 International Best-Selling Author. She is in the process of launching her blog by the 4th quarter of 2021.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has its ups and downs. The number one challenge is to make sure that I maintain a strong mindset and release some of the limiting beliefs that I had. Throughout my journey, I learned when a negative thought comes in my mind, I have to immediately replace it with a positive one. I have to ensure that I put positive thoughts in the universe. Most importantly, I had to remain aligned with God and keep him first always. When my actions are in alignment with God, the situation(s) work in my favor.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an education technology professional. On a daily basis I assist administrators and teachers by providing supplemental assistance (delivered by virtual instruction) to students (grades 6-8) on core subjects. Also I maintain two school websites, create and publish school publications. I have a web design company LQB Design Solutions. I assist new or existing organizations in the Southeast United States by creating their printed and digital material (websites, newsletters, speaker sheets, graphics, etc). I love that I am able to take my love for writing, content creation, web design, and graphic design and create user experiences that will help website visitors get the information that they need. What sets me apart from others is that I am able to take my passion and integrate it into any career or business and be innovative.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Pursuing passions led Laqueshia to more opportunities and movements that allow her to be surrounded with like-minded individuals and inspire them to move past their fears and to move to their next level. Laqueshia was a panelist at Maria Stanfield’s Push Party Conference in 2018. At this conference she shared her business journey with like-minded women and provided encouragement to them as they move forward in their journey. In 2019, she had an opportunity to collaborate with Monica Reed and 11 amazing women and write the book Love Mama: Memories and Messages. This anthology was listed as the #1 for International Best-Selling Authors in May of 2019. Through her experiences and lessons from her coaches and other successful women, Laqueshia understood the importance of writing down your vision and making it visible daily, also, surrounding yourself with a like-minded community. “Finally, you can’t move along in your journey alone. You have to surround yourself with Individuals who share similar goals can become your accountability partners during your journey.”
