Life & Work with Aleta Neal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleta Neal.

Hi Aleta, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been a lover of the arts and creativity. I have a degree in Design & Merchandising and have a full-time career as a Product Developer. Growing up, I always had a camera in my hand and was the token “picture taker/historian” of my family functions and events with friends. I started to get serious about turning my hobby of photography into a business during the pandemic when I had a little more free time and time to reflect on what my passion really was. I love expanding my audience from people who’ve known me for years to strangers who truly enjoy the images I capture for them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The hardest part about launching and expanding my business is just all the other hats I wear and other activities I hate to give up. I’m a wife, a Mom, hold a corporate full-time position, and participate in other social activities around the community. I’m learning to balance the important things in life and still make time for my passions.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
StylishLe Captured Photography (named after my nickname “le”) is considered Artistic Conceptual Photography because each image is creatively captured to tell a story and strategically edited with my subject’s qualities and unique features in mind. I tend to add “StylishLe Touched” images to each of my finished galleries which includes my signature flair of adding sometimes magical elements and composites to add to my vision.

I specialize in natural light, so most of my images are taken outdoors with natural sunlight; however I also love the dramatics studio lighting and props can add to an image.

What were you like growing up?
I’ve always loved creative things and activities. I would love going to the craft store with my Mom and grab fabrics to make myself and my dolls interesting clothing. I also loved to draw and paint. Once computers were invented, I would take my drawing skills to the computer and taught myself how to electronically sketch and manipulate photos for fun.
