Life & Work with Amanda Fields

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Fields.

Hi Amanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Lover of Jesus, coffee, and all things Fall! I have 4 BEAUTIFUL children and a stud of a husband who are my inspiration for life. I am a Registered Nurse by trade where I get to live out my passion for helping people and being a light in the darkness. Then my second love – Photography. It all started when we had our oldest daughter. I wanted to capture everything – freeze time if you will. It is one of my greatest joys in life to be able to do this for my clients as well.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh goodness, no. As an artist, you are constantly learning, growing, and changing. Being self-taught had its own obstacles (and lots of YouTube tutorials) but learning to be true to yourself and your art – that’s probably the toughest part. I love quotes – one I heard recently is “Be true to the artist in you and the art will be true to you” (Christina Strigas). You’re putting a piece of your soul (as dramatic as that sounds) out into the world, hoping and praying that others can see its beauty.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in lifestyle sessions – including family, senior, newborn, maternity, and engagement. It brings me so much joy to be a part of a family’s journey. I have had multiple clients that started as engagement sessions, moved to wedding, maternity, newborn, and now family. It’s a beautiful ride – and I am so proud of all these moments.

I would dub myself a “light-chaser”. I love to play with light, shadows, flares, etc. A signature shot I would say I’m known for is catching the sun as it’s setting between a kiss.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Passion, creativity, drive, and love for moments – big, small, and in between.
