Life & Work with Ashley White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley White.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was always interested in acting since I was a kid. I’d go to the movies with my Mom, Dad, and my sister and would be mesmerized and imagine myself in the movie. I got into theatre briefly during my time at Stephenson High School, starring in Macbeth and The Crucible. After the pandemic hit and I lost my job, I decided to take a leap and go for my dreams. I got into background acting and I knew that acting was my path. I began taking classes at the Houde School of acting and Mike pointer and I got my headshots done at LKP Studios. With my training and previous theatre experience, I was able to gain representation from my agents Dawn and George Landrum of the Landrum Arts Talent Agency. I’m currently filming a full-length feature here in Atlanta called Revisiting the Heart, set to be released sometime this fall. Acting isn’t an easy road to follow but it’s so rewarding being a part of the art and watching how the magic is created.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path of being an actor is filled with many highs and lows and it can be an emotional rollercoaster at times. A lot of times, you don’t know when you’re gonna get your next job. You put your all into each audition and it can be daunting when you don’t book the “role of a lifetime”. You also have the internal and external pressure to succeed. If you aren’t careful, it can have a toll on your mental health. But, I am blessed to have a great support system in my Mom and Dad and I remind myself that everything will all work out in my favor. God’s in the driver’s seat and I’m riding shotgun.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actress based in Atlanta. I’ve recently been cast in a feature film set to release this fall called, Revisiting the Heart. I get to play a detective and there’s a bunch of really cool action sequences and plot twists, so I’m extremely excited to see the finished result! I’m extremely proud of booking this role because I’ve always wanted to play a detective like Olivia Benson. I’ve always been the type that when I’m passionate about something, I’m going to go for it until I get it. I take every failure as a learning opportunity and every loss as an opportunity to grow and prepare for that big win! Acting isn’t for the faint of heart and it takes dedication and perseverance and I’m in it for the long haul.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
