Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobby Hernandez.
Hi Bobby, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got my start in acting in Austin, TX with national commercials for KIA, Coca-Cola, and HEB. I then also got into stunts. My first acting role was as Officer Fernandez on 24: Legacy. My first stunt role was on American Crime. Since then, I’ve worked as both an actor and stuntman on many various TV shows and films.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This industry is tough. Some struggles along the way have been on staying patient and being committed while knowing that nothing happens overnight. Also, staying strong in my faith and knowing I’m supposed to do this has been a help through everything.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full time professional SAG-AFTRA stuntman and actor. I’m known for my intensity, and my look, and being able to be versatile to play both the bad guy as well as the guy next door. I’m proud that I’m a working Mexican American actor and stuntman from a small town and never thought I’d be doing anything like this. What sets me apart is that there are 100 million talented and good-looking guys, but the difference is that I know I’m made to do this.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Not ever being too comfortable, always studying the craft of acting and stunts, never losing faith in myself, staying positive and keeping a positive mindset, and staying true to my faith.
