Hi Celina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I moved down here from Michigan three years ago. I started taking makeup serious due to my friends and family. I decided to attend Paul Mitchell Esani where I got my license in esthetics. I continued to network with other makeup artists, hairstylists, and photographers. I worked on building my brand and a name for myself. I worked with many different people and groups. Some long nights and early mornings but I was persistent! I took small jobs and large jobs. I started doing all types of makeup from weddings, music videos, TV shows, photoshoots, and everyday makeup. I was excited to get a new gig and started getting “word of mouth” referrals from people I’ve serviced before.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“Nothing worth having comes easy” I would be lying if I said it’s been a smooth road. This has been nothing but self-reflection and self-motivation. There were times where I had creator’s block and just felt stuck. I had to refocus and understand my assignment. The world has been really different these past couple of years, which caused me to start rebranding. There are always going to be ups and downs in this entrepreneur world, but you need to remember to always believe in yourself FIRST!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a makeup artist specializing in natural glam makeup. Giving my clients a clean beauty look with a glam twist! Perfect for weddings, birthdays, photoshoots, or getting that perfect Instagram picture. I also specialize in male grooming, ensuring my male clients have clear clean skin and still look natural and masculine.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I LOVE listening to music before I service my clients. My current playlist has a little bit of everything. Beyonce, K camp, Lil Donald, Ro James, Nao, and Gyptian to name a few. Listening to music helps me relax and brings good positive energy to my clients.
