Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Freeman and William Jones. Them and their team share their story with us below:
We both came from a background of cooking and each had been working as individual chefs in our college (Valdosta State University) and hometowns. One of our mutual friends saw an equal drive in us and in-turn introduced us to each other. We worked with each other on a few vending events, realizing the chemistry between our duo, we officially came together as partners in 2018.
A mix of Chef Will’s precision paired with Chef Danny‘s eye for aesthetics, it all helps to play a major key in what we know and believe has gotten us so far. We see what the other can sometimes overlook in the kitchen and life. It allows us to work hand-in-hand and create a powerful duo in whatever setting we put ourselves in.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? No, no and NO.
We are like brothers and like brothers, we bump heads. We have had to adjust from having a solo chef mindset into trusting each other in and out of the kitchen.
We have definitely had our individual and collective battles. Like any business starting out we ran into our walls with getting our vision off of the ground. Combining our talents in a way that was not necessarily what we were comfortable with but helped to push us a duo further made us stronger. We had our initial shortcoming and learning situations, such as transitioning from smaller events to serving guests on a much larger scale and making sure to meet higher demands than we had been used to.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We consider ourselves artists and we “are sensitive about our…” you know the rest. Many may view us as just a simple business, but cooking is a form of art and expression for us. We work to set ourselves apart from other catering companies by aiming to bring to life what our client has envisioned *without* limits.
We specialize in Southern Fusion cuisine, making a moment with our infamous Lamb Chop Pineapple bowls or simply bringing our noteworthy touch to classics like Mac n Cheese. We love to highlight our upbringing and culture when we have weddings with a Southern-themed food menu or remind you of Sunday morning breakfast at home with our unique brunch packages.
Currently, we do not think we have even touched the surface of what will be our proudest moment. We have had our mix of high-level events and clients, which have meant a great deal. We hope to keep along the path that brings our business and selves the most authentic route to success by committing to our art amidst any obstacles that come our way. We know all that we are capable of and will continue to hold ourselves to an elevated standard. Our proudest moment is yet to come.
What are your plans for the future?
Presently, we are looking to not only expand our current catering and meal prep services but we are gearing up to open our first physical location. We hope to provide quality eats in an in-person fashion that will help us connect to our clientele on personal level. Paired with providing the city with unique events, from networking dinner parties to cooking classes.
We have each relocated to Midtown to do everything we can to bring this next phase to life.
