Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Sirois.
Hi Kelly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was destined to be an artist of some kind. My mother was an actress/model when I was a youngster and then transitioned into Radio & TV Advertising Sales. We always had the best tickets to all the amazing concerts that came to town. My father is a free-lanced writer my entire life to present. I started young as an actress doing my first Coca-Cola commercial with my mother when I was only 4 years old.
When I became a mom, I helped my son start his music career at the age of 13 and he is now in Nashville making a living doing what he loves. I guess you could say, I have always been in the entertainment industry, as far back as I can remember.
Today, I hold multiple hats as a Realtor, working Actress signed with Classic Talent Agency and Acting & Film Production Studio owner and producer. My acting studio is called Atlanta Hollywood Acting Studio and we started the first annual Atlanta Hollywood Film Festival. Our studio produced a short film called “Pulse” which is making its rounds in the film festival circuits. We also have another short film we produced and casted which is winning multiple awards in India, it is called “Uncovered”.
Currently, I am working on a book series with podcast attached. That will help so many people use critical thinking to reach their dreams and goals. I plan to self-fund a feature film I am producing and move further into film production and screenwriting.
My family is everything to me. I am happily married and with my spouse for over 21 years. My two children are the joys of my universe!!! My son is my oldest, he is a musician in Nashville. One of his bands recently opened up for Miranda Lambert’s new venue called Casa Rosa. My daughter was in real estate with me, however, she is recently married and works independently on some business ventures.
I have always been a dreamer, a writer and a social butterfly. I have been able to utilize my talents as skills and build an empire. I feel like I am just getting started. With decades of accumulated relationships, business ideas, successes and failures, I finally see the fruits of my labor. I have a specialty niche that nobody else and it is paying off.
I came from a broken family like so many in our society, but through all of that was a lot of love. I learned so much from the trials and tribulations. I never thought of myself as a victim although some may have perceived me that way. I always considered myself blessed! I have been at the peak of happiness and success and I have also felt the pain of losing it all. The best lessons came out of my pain. I never gave up and that is the secret to where I am today.
The best is yet to come – I love being a Realtor! I wrote my own schedule and only work with people I want to work with, most of my business is referral based. I am moving into Luxury listings and that is where I will land as time goes on. My acting studio will be on autopilot once we hire an FT Studio Manager, currently, I am the studio manager. I am taking on this role as we transition into more and more film production and expand upon the annual film festival. As an actress, I have to create my own destiny, hence producing my own film while elevating fellow actors and entrepreneurs around me.
My goal is close to completion. Being a writer, film producer and award winning actress with a full staff to help manage the logistics.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Anything but that. My life changed better financially once I became a Realtor. It was a game changer. Up until that point, I struggled to get my own businesses off the ground. I was determined not to work for Corporate America. It went against all my senses. Before I became a Realtor, I owned my own Digital Marketing Agency and worked for small businesses to help them achieve their marketing goals. I finally wised up and decided to take the plunge and become a Realtor instead of marketing for them, I would market for myself. This was much harder than you could imagine. I failed the Real Estate test a couple of times before I finally passed it. And I worked day and night to get my first leads. A couple of times I met a challenge KW asked of me and that was to speak with 100 people in 1 day about real estate. I did it and got one of my best listings out of it.
When I was a young single mother, I had to endure making ends meet as a waitress with 2 small kids. At one point I was on welfare and food stamps but I worked super hard to get us off of it. There was one Thanksgiving were the kids and I ate around a coffee table by candle light because our electric went out. The kids had plenty of food, but I ate kidney beans out of a can. There was a book called “Dear John” written where my story was documented. This was a tough time but somehow we made it through.
One thing, through all of that quagmire…I never ever gave up on my dreams for acting and writing.
Once I became a Realtor, I had plenty of challenges there as well. I always worked to keep business in the pipeline. There have been times with the pandemic and family members being sick and I needed to care for them that I didn’t know when my next paycheck would come from. I have had so much responsibility as a business owner, paying over 8 people and not positive how I was going to manage through it all. The studio suffered setbacks with loss of business during the pandemic as well. I positioned us quickly into online classes which saved us from complete destruction. Somehow, once again, we made it through.
I have a very strong faith in God and I can only give the glory to God.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an entrepreneur. A local artist create my portrait and wrote “bad-ass boss lady” on the bottom. This is what I am. A bad-ass boss lady. Even though the word “boss” does not fit my personality, it is a broad title for what I do. It is so hard to describe what I do because it is not just Ione thing. I am a Realtor and this has been my bread and butter. I am an award winning Realtor and am in the Top 20% of our Market Center. I am a listing agent and marketing specialist. I have been an actress since the age of 4. I currently booked my first substantial Supporting role in a SAG Feature film called Holy Irresistible. I am signed with Classic Talent Agency and have taken over 170 acting classes in 2019. This is my major focus and my passion.
I own Atlanta Hollywood which is an acting studio – www.AtlantaHollywood.com and also a Production Company. We also started the Atlanta Hollywood Film Festival in Downtown Woodstock. Now, I am moving into the writing phase of production. I am writing a series of 5 non-fiction books with weekly podcasts. I plan to self-fund my own feature film with the proceeds. This is 2021-2022.
What matters most to you? Why?
My family. I do what I do to elevate those around me. All of my goals and aspirations would be nothing if I did not have my family. My two grown children drive me every day to be a better person and build a legacy for them. They are both successful and happy and that is my biggest accomplishment. Now that I am not solely responsible for them, I can build this empire.
