Life & Work with Michael Ojeda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Ojeda.

Hi Michael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The initial start came from being a part of rap group and needing someone to take photos of the members and when at events. Once the group dissolved, I continued shooting mainly clubs and events. I became a part of two magazines “On The Rise” and “Six Twelve Magazine” which allowed to network at different events throughout Atlanta. This also led me becoming the head photographer for Hustle and Flow, a hip hop networking event backed by Grand Hustle records for a few years. I was able to link and work with different celebs in Atlanta during that time period. After almost a two and half year hiatus, I started fully shooting again at the beginning of 2021. I am ready for what the future brings.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Outside of the “competition”, you have a lot of people who just want photos done for free. I went through a six months period where I lost a camera, finally brought a new one only to have it stolen from me at gunpoint. Those are just some major issues outside of personal ones. Oh and the occasional creative block where you just do not want to shoot at all.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer. I specialized in event photography, model portfolio, and family portraits. I want to venture into doing pet photography, real estate and weddings in the near future. I’m proud of having happy clients and having clients enjoy and love their photos.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Understanding is a major quality that I think is important. With the understanding comes your human characteristics of love, caring and etc. This helps connect with your clients. Now the full business side, being on time, communicating with clients, being respectful all plays a part in the success of my business.
