Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Wilbon.

Hi Morgan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, I got into doing makeup when I was in my senior year of high school. I would only wear eyeshadow, mascara, & lipstick. I didn’t really have time to do a full face of makeup every day. But I really started taking my makeup journey seriously after I graduated high school. I would always watch beauty influencers on YouTube like Make Up Shayla, Patrick Starr, Aaliyah Jay, & Alissa Ashley to name a few. As I continued to watch beauty tutorials & makeup videos I started to practice on myself & eventually I started to get good at it & then I fell in love with doing it. But a few years after I graduated high school I enrolled at Athens Tech & I obtained my esthetician license. As of today, I’m still trying to grow my clientele. I hope by the end of the year or the start of next year I am going to relocate to the Gwinnett area so I can do my makeup full time.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No absolutely not! I’ve been doing makeup for a couple of years now & since I live in a small city it’s hard to grow your clientele. Mostly everybody feels comfortable going to the same people they have been going to for their services. So it’s hard to gain clientele. So because of this, their has been times where I thought about quitting doing makeup. But by having a good support system like my parents, & my close friends they have kept me going. But that hasn’t been my only struggle since I’m still trying to grow my clientele their has been times where people think you charge to much & they don’t want to book with you because of it. But I learned that you shouldn’t have to lower your prices to get or keep a client I feel like my work speaks for itself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a 24-year-old licensed esthetician & makeup artist from Athens, Ga. And the thing that sets me apart from others is my drive & determination & me working toward getting to where I want to be.
