Life & Work with Tiffany Bonner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Bonner.

Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
How I got started? Well, when I was a little girl my grandma always had tea in the cabinet. My favorite was this citrus mint tea. One day I went into the cabinet looking for it and it was gone. In 2019 I realized that I had a passion for tea and making my own blends. So, I created my own mint tea with a hint of citrus and it was perfect. When I started my business I started with my immunity and mint tea when the pandemic hit. I was trying to keep my immune system strong as well as my daughter’s. I then started to learn more about different herbs and their benefits. That led to my top-selling butterfly pea tea. It is my TOP seller and a show stopper lol. All of the teas have so many benefits from the herbs. The taste is also unbelievable. The butterfly pea tea literally makes you feel good. It eases stress and promotes relaxation. I forage as many herbs as possible. I do my research and my mom is definitely the one who helps me a lot. She knows so much about herbs, minerals, and foraging.I started Tip Top Tea LLC on January 21st, 2021. I am proud to be an herbal tea business owner. Tea should always be made with love, right?!

Now, I have a tea business. I along with my seven year old daughter forage herbs locally between the Carolinas or wherever we are visiting. I live near Charlotte, NC and have found many great herbs and flowers locally. For instance, dandelion and yarrow from the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville,NC. I clean and dehydrate all herbs and fruits to use in my teas. So, as you can maybe see many things contributed to why I have a tea business today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m new to being a business owner. It has NOT been easy. Funding is definitely one obstacle. Another obstacle is wanting to give up sometimes and sticking to the plan. Often, I am reminded of why I do this. Even if it’s me going to pick some clover or nettle, I am reminded. Anyone can make herbal tea. Then there’s me. It is the why. Not many can even identify these herbs while taking a stroll through the park.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work in hospitality full-time. It is a great job that I actually love. I have been doing it for years.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Lesson I have learned is trouble don’t last always. There is always a bigger picture. Either way, we grow if we choose to. Life, gives us many lemons. I put them in my tea!
