Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Monroe.
Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have a passion for learning and teaching others about how the body works on a chemical and energetic level. Certain experiences earlier in my life caused me to realize that living with constant stress and anxiety was not serving me any justice. In 2013, I took the first step towards developing my life’s true purpose and became a Level I Reiki Practitioner. Twenty-one days later, I went through the training to receive my Level II Reiki Practitioner attunement. Finally, in 2014, I received my Master Level training and attunement to the Sekhmet & Seichim Reiki lineage from Sandra Fraser. I have since received Master Level training and attunements to the Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage from Gary and Adele Malone, and I have received Master Level training and attunements (placements and ignitions) to the Usui/Holy Fire Reiki lineage from William Rand. I have practiced Reiki on myself and others for eight years and have trained and attuned over 40 students to Reiki Levels I, II, and Master levels.
My combination of science education and chemical research has helped me to fully appreciate the application of Reiki as a vital healing energy modal.” My goal is to offer Reiki training to those working in the medical professions (hospitals, hospice centers, cancer centers, physical therapy centers, etc..) so that they can help their patients reduce stress and heal.
In 2017, I was led to create a nonprofit to help others “Participate in their own healing”. Healing Hands Reiki & Spiritual Development Inc. is a Georgia 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to empower individuals to participate in their own healing process through integrating Reiki (therapeutic touch), yoga, meditation, and other conscious living classes, into health care systems and community-based organizations.
The goal of Healing Hands Reiki & Spiritual Development Inc. is to foster a caring and supportive wellness community that educates and encourages an optimal life, in which individuals consciously utilize and become in-tune with their inborn abilities to heal, live in balance, and connect with Indigenous Spiritual practices and their Ancestors.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a Reiki Practitioner, you have to constantly focus on your own healing before you can make any meaningful impact on helping others heal. It can be challenging to sit with yourself and evaluate your own mental impressions or patterns (samskaras) that result from mind chatter (chitta vritti). In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali discusses how it is these samskaras that lead to suffering and human disconnect from higher consciousness or God.
I have been able to use daily self Reiki treatments and my training in Ashtanga Yoga under the tutelage of Todd Roderick at Ashtanga Yoga Atlanta (AYA) to stay focused and disciplined during my own personal journey towards healing.

I have a passion for learning and teaching others about how the body works on a chemical and energetic level. My primary background is in Chemical Research & Science Education. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, a Master of Arts in Chemistry, and an Educational Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction. I have over 11 years of experience working in the chemical research field and over 18 years teaching Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, and Anatomy/Physiology at the secondary and the University level. I currently teach at a local high school during the day and at a University in the evening. My combination of science education and chemical research has helped me to fully appreciate the application of Reiki as a vital healing energy modal.
