Meet Aaron Polk of Aaron Polk The Atlanta Realtor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Polk.

Hi Aaron, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a native Georgia resident with 25 years of experience in the relocation industry.  I have owned and operated two successful moving and storage businesses and felt compelled to pursue a career in Real Estate.  This transition was very smooth because I already have so much knowledge and experience working with families, individuals and businesses when it comes to planning a move from one place to another.  As a devoted real estate professional, I am able to cater to my clients needs with a deeper understanding of everything involved with their relocation.   Buying or selling a home in or around Atlanta requires complete knowledge of the market along with strategic planning, plus clear processes or procedures to ensure that each client’s unique experiences are rewarding, progressive, memorable and of most of all positive.

Truth be told, when I was in need of a Realtor, I had a tough time finding one that truly understood my special needs and acted upon them.  The one Realtor that did listen, happens to be my broker today.  Needless to say, the conversations and experiences I had with other Realtors taught me a valuable lesson; there are other people like me in this world that might not realize how many options they have when it comes to purchasing a new home!
This felt like a calling.  I wanted to fill a role within my community that seemed so underserved.  With my network and hard working team, I hope to continue to build relationships and inspire others to take that leap into the home buying or selling world with me.  I will listen to your needs and help come up with a strategic plan to get you to the closing table!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Actually, it has been one hurdle after the next in the event of progression. This industry is not designed to allow overnight success. It takes time, education, knowledge, experience, certifications, licensing, dedication, patience, entrepreneurial skills, strategic planning, kindness, forgiveness and really every ounce of perseverance to accelerate from one level to the next.

In either the buying or selling processes, not one client’s needs are ever the same. Each transaction is unique and requires a lot of patience and professionalism. From the window shopper at home on a computer that is thinking about the change to the closing table is a vast amount of stages. It takes rehearsed skill and experience to create a smooth transition with every client that is only achieved through a strict process.

There are fears or skepticism in choosing a real estate agent in Atlanta. Just the same as the clients have with any contractor or service provider. The question I get all the time is, why should we choose you over any other agent? I simply say the truth- I’m creative in the marketplace and do not just take the listing and dump it online with photoshopped pictures to just wait on the phone to ring. The key is to have engaging conversations with prospects and focus on building the relationships first. Before a client becomes a client, they need to have a level of trust with you before proceeding. I try to build this through a routine follow-up system, and I always offer the ability to meet at our office or location of their preference so we can get to know each other and discuss goals.

Aside from relationship building, which is probably the highlight of being a real estate professional, one of my biggest hurdles would be my physical disability. There are a lot of physical attributes to this market, such as being able to access homes that have stairs when I am in a wheelchair. Many of the homes in Georgia are either on a hill or have stair access. So this is obviously a challenge for someone in my disposition. However, I refuse to let that stand in my way. Fortunately, I have an amazing partner who physically opens up the doors for my clients while I drive us to each destination. We make the process fun and enjoyable because this is what we love to do.

I’m here despite my disability, and I love helping clients achieve their real estate goals each and every day. I hope that my story can help others realize that obstacles are just like puzzle pieces that need to be figured out. If there is something you want to do or someone you want to be, find a way to make it happen!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I help individuals and businesses buy and sell property; such as residential and commercial real estate, as well as land lots.

What do you specialize in?
I specialize in developing creative solutions for each individual client. Everyone has different and unique needs, so it’s important to consider this in order to customize a plan that aligns with their specific goals.

What are you known for?
I’m known for beating the odds as a handi-capable quadriplegic entrepreneur. I have owned and operated several businesses over the years and hope to motivate and inspire others along the way.

What sets you apart from others?
Being a business owner from a physical restriction presents certain challenges that have forced me to think outside the box and to strategize in a forward motion daily. I also have decades of experience in the service industry which has given me the market experience and understanding for my real estate clients. Having access to a large network of different vendors that are needed to make each real estate transaction smooth is a major plus to choosing me as your agent.

How do you think about luck?
Speaking of luck, I actually love picking out four-leaf clovers. It’s something I have always enjoyed doing ever since I was young. Finding these is rare and unique; most people only find one in a lifetime. I have found several and started a collection that I keep in glass frames as a reminder of how lucky or blessed I feel. Even from my wheelchair, I am “lucky” to spot those clovers from 3-4 feet above the ground.

I have had many lucky and unlucky moments in my life. I am grateful for all of them, as they have helped shape me into the man and entrepreneur I am today. The thing about luck is you can’t wait for it to show up. Luck is a friendly reminder that things are going alright and in a positive direction. But luck isn’t the reason I am here today. I am here today because of hard work, perseverance, strong will, determination and attitude.

I’m grateful for all the experiences in my previous career to make the real estate process more rewarding and fun. My team and I work very hard to ensure smooth transactions and transitions for our clients. Each closing transaction creates employment and business opportunities to so many different people with each stage of the process. If luck were to play a part in this, I would feel lucky that you are reading this today and hopefully inspired to take chances despite the challenges.
